so decided to send out a caravan for my people to recover some items and found that animals do not eat hay that you put into the caravan inventory. send out a convoy with 800 pemmican and it doesnt make it more than two days because the shitty animals decide the pemmican is their food not the humans. only had boars and muffalo in the convoy and both can eat hay.
All pawns prioritize eating food which will spoil first, but in this case it produces weird results like this. hmm, not sure what the best solution would be though, maybe "hay" could simply be a special case.
In my opinion, even when in their own base, players prefer animals to eat hay rather than human food.
If I have both hay and simple meals in a normal storage in the beginning of a game with tribe people for example so without cooler, I want to keep my meals for my pawns rather than for some muffaloes.
I forgot that we've already changed the behavior I was talking about, and animals should eat hay first. But I just found a bug which prevented caravan animals from eating hay. Fixed for A18, thanks.
