Title: Death through relationship fights should be changed.

Difficulty is only worth it if you can manage it.

When their relationship gets worse, they fight.

Most of the time, of course, it does not matter. But occasionally a person is killed and it is very wrong. We can not take any action and only pray.

Give them a means to fight or to stop fighting. For example, as a high - society person, the relationship between two people does not go to the worst.

It could be fun to have some variety here.  As the OP said, not everyone's reaction to being angry at a significant other/relative is to start a fist fight.

Some could refuse to fight (i.e. walks away) but get a negative "resents relationship X" moodlet.

Others might just trade a flurry of insults, with resultant relationship damage.

And then there'd be that occasional pawn who decides to stab/shoot their significant other in their sleep, poison them, or sell them off to a passing slave caravan.

I know you can try arresting them, but in my experience one of them always resists, so you go from your pawns fistfighting to... your pawns fistfighting. Not exactly an improvement.

Maybe there could be some kind of mechanic where people restrain pawns having social fights? Not a full arrest-and-bludgeon-unconscious, but more of a "grab their arms and keep them from punching each other" kind of thing.

It's a little odd watching people just sit there and watch these brawls. (Except bloodthirsty pawns, I suppose, makes perfect sense for them.)

Why is that wrong?
does that not happen in our current world?
people get upset and fight each other and things do happen where some of them die.

have their work locations and/or times separated if those pawns appear
or kick them out or kill them off

That's why I always run that mod that diminishes relationship based mood-debuffs.

Mia had an annoying voice in my colony, so Codex beat her TO DEATH for it.  I save-scummed the shit out of that.

RimWorld doesn't check things like pain levels to end a fist fight early.

Terrible solution: Only recruit wimps. They will always get downed before dying.

I REALLY wish pawns had an increased chance to stop a fight once something breaks or a vital part reaches critical condition. It's also weird that other pawns just go about their business and completely ignore the fight. Who just stands there and watches while someone beats another person to death?
