I propose to create in some tiles of the world map Mechanoid MainHives during the world generation.
Each (3 months for example), a new Mechanoid Hive (easier to deal with than the main one) will be created in a certain radius.
If one of them is less than (ten tiles for example) from your base, this one will be frequently raided by mechanoids.
You can deal with the Hive but keep the risk to see a new one spawning or sending a raid against the mainHive to permanently removing the problem.
Good idea but i think the main hive should be undestructable
I Like the idea of more worldmap events/opportunities. This as well.
Yeah, mechanoid sightings as event would also be a nice idea.

What do you call a mechanoid sighting ?
Similiar to the Pirate Outpost event ..
a group of mechanoid was sighted roaming the landscape, or escaped from an old relic, ...
friendly faction found a HUGE ancient relic ..
It could be interesting too, but if the chance of getting it + the chance of getting the pirate outpost event = the previous chance of getting the pirate outpost event.
With two events so similar, I find such a regulation better.
