Title: Question for Tynan: Is there anything you want in the game but won't add?
Post by: Call me Arty on September 25, 2017, 12:42:54 AM
For example, the lore dictates no blatantly "alien" life, which (next to copyright, of course) no Xenomorphs or Sarlacc pits. Plus, I'd imagine that time, money, and ability keep z-levels ever-elusive or some sort of Dungeon Keeper style minion-possessing for full control and a first-person view.

Apologies if this has been asked before.

Um...  Answering that question is a lose-lose for Tynan.  Why create the inevitable drama, when people beg for w/e he's already firmly decided not to include?  It's already bad enough about Z-levels, point of fact :-X.

It doesn't have to be something people would get angry or disappointed about. It could just be something silly. Besides, it'd be fun to learn a bit more about the guy and his passion project. If poeple are going to hear "no z-levels" and keep complaining about "no z-levels!" that's just them being immature.

Immature?  Certainly.  Inevitable?  Also almost certain.

Would be neat if he shared more ideas/plans he has for the game, or even ones that he decided to cut out.  Here's this list (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=12024.0) but it's rather short.
Thought it was awesome when he shared his old concept map (https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/5qkuow/concept_map_i_drew_three_years_ago_forgot_about/).

While Bozobub is sort of right, I think those kinds of people are the type that will complain about small things reguardless.  What I find interesting is that I see lots of people putting trust into Tynan's decisions even if they don't match up with what they wanted.  It's unusual to see that kind of trust with a dev/studio.

I don't think he would place himself in a bad situation if he shared some ideas he had laying around (whether he ends up implementing them or not) like some devs do in early access. Would definitely help players and modders come up with better suggestions/improvements.

I would've loved to have Z-levels, but my CPU understands the decision.
