Hi all,
I am hoping I am not the only one who finds this an issue but would it be possible to make it standard practise for modders to amend their thread titles for updates?
Other forums do this, especially games that are under heavy development.
For example [Mod]Better power+ version# 16th May
It is so simple but it makes seeing which mods I need to update SO much easier, even going into each and every thread sometimes still leaving me wondering if I have the latest version lol
Just a thought, let me know what you think! :)
You can already rename Titles ::)
just use the modify tool and rename the title

I know, I am wondering whether Modders are happy to adjust their habits to include update date into their titles :) Look at minecraft mod forum and kerbal space program. They all started out just the same as here, posting just versions, now more and more they post the date of update as it's easier to notice when there is an update out. Not everyone can remember the version number of all the mods they have installed lol

Hence I posted here so modders can see discuss and decide for themselves rather than me posting individually to all of them. Also forum moderators can post their thoughts on the subject
I don't really see why not, although it's not a big deal either way. I'll be amending my thread title when I update today.

Thanks, I know it's more for the end users and not the modders but it's still appreciated by end users even if they don't mention it. All I know is it has made my life SO much easier as modders are always updating their games! It has helped me SO much with Kerbal Space Program. It's a pain keeping mods up to date otherwise :)
Seems like a fair call, If I fail to do it the next time I update, drop me a message and I'll change it.
Sounds good to me. Next time I update one of my mods I'll hopefully remember to do this. :)
Since the thread is here anyway...
It'll just make the place more neat if we set a standard. Here's how I added the Updated Date to the end of my title, anyway.
- Updated 05/18/14

well actually i do not agree: "[Mod] (Rimworld version)ModName (v.0.0.0)" look's better...
(at least if there is something in the mod because version 0.0.0 isn't a version o.0)

its still a version...
it just means it has nothing in it yet and doesn't have anything yet but planned features :P
"Updated 05/18/14" <- It's to long, I use [Mod] (RWVer) ModName (v.x.x.x - Date)
Date is in the forum format(copying from page header - never know the date we are)

Why not [Mod] (RWVer) ModName (V0.x 18 May)
It isn't all that long but it's purely up to each modder what he chooses to do :)

Just look here and see what I am on about (not all modders are doing it but more and more are every day)

OP has a point, although I'm sure modders don't like being told what to do. It's still a good idea in general especially if you update or hotfix daily or hourly, etc.
I did that with my mod!! i think its great for the downloader and gamer so they know when i have updated it!

Er, I can't speak for the others, but it'd be pretty damn arrogant of me to get fussy over someone asking to put a mere date on my thread title.
Just tbhimho.
