Title: Loading game caused heavy damage to walls and furniture...
Post by: Piggermortis on July 03, 2018, 12:21:45 PM
I started a new 1.0 game last night and loaded it up this morning. Steam did an update and I received an error warning about compatibility. No mods are used. When the map loaded, heavy amounts of damage appeared on almost all my walls and furniture. While I do know things get damaged, I have five colonists without whole lot to do so I'm certain there was no damage when I saved last night. I haven't engaged enemies or animals near the structures. I will continue on this save until it breaks. I can't seem to find the error log for the game after looking...

Game Specs:
1.0.1953 rev1370 (development build)
Randy Hard Permadeath
Map Seed: entrails

Computer:
2017 Macbook Pro 15"
2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Radeon Pro 555 2048 MB
Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Wood things now have higher HP than previous update. When you started the game, your stuff was still at the old HP level. Just needs repairing up to new, higher limit.

I had this happen today when loading my save (saved in 1.0.1951) into today's build (1.0.1954).  I just assumed it was some kind of balance change that modified the durability of wood.  I do have some video of the problem, but if I don't see it happen again I wasn't really worried about it.  I too also had EXACTLY 62% on most of my wood stuff.

I am glad to hear this was because of an intentional change, just as I had thought it might have been.

It did make me notice that repairing some structures (particularly walls) can take longer than building them from scratch.
