And he gonna die? Is there anything he can do? :o
In case of an ambush, you can always run, the green zone on the edge of the map lets you leave. I think non-violents can still attack enemies by releasing their animals when they re set as master.
There was no green zone... on any side. Cat runs faster than he does too...
Insane cat vs PETA member. Cat wins.
Yeah you can't just immediately run from ambushes. It's worth sending pawns that can do violence on raids, and carrying more than one weapon to use based on situation (you can drop switch with gear).

This is true, but... it cuts out a significant desire to ever have a non violent anybody. It sort of breaks the story for me. Yes, no fighting ever, OK, but running away and hiding should be an option somehow!
Perhaps similar to how human ambushes give you the option to give away items, manhunter ambushes could give an option to drop food, if you have enough to stall them.

Wow! Yes, this! This would be an awesome drama moment of what to do!
A perfect solution imo, that makes you pay a stiff price, adds to the sory, makes a problem, and causes you to make new plans! I would love this!!!
I mean it makes sense for hungry carnivores to be distracted or contented after finding some nearby meat -- but not if they're after you for other reasons than hunger (like manhunter events).
