I have a loooooooooot of my favourite mods on version 0.18 and 1.0, but almost none in 0.19.
Is there a way I can change the version myself instead of waiting for the modders to do it?

1.0 was recently renamed 0.19, so there is a good chance that 1.0 mods will work on 0.19.
You should still be able to enable them even if the version numbers say that they are not comparable.
There is always a chance that an update will have broken them, but that was also happening between 1.0 versions.
If you find one that does not work check to see if the issue has been reported on the forum thread and if not it might be a good idea to let the moder know.
