I like the wood flooring, i think it is better than a hodge podge of smoothed stone throughout my house (smooth stone gives +2 to beauty while wood gives 0 )
I gather it gives no beauty modifier as it is easy to do, plenty of wood and the first thing you come across..
i'd like the ability to smooth/polish the wood flooring, i want to keep wood flooring but i am being penalized for not taking the 'easy way out' and just smoothing stone.

Also, to build on this it would be neat if there were traits that preferred specific floor and wall types.
The trait wouldn't impact beauty or anything but add a small addition mood thought. For example, Tribals could have an increased chance of having a "prefers wooden materials" trait, while pawns that have a Glitterworld background could have an increased chance to have a "prefers steel materials" trait.
There are mods that add extra flooring options. I've never used it but this one (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=725623521) looks like what you're asking for.
Quite the selection with that mod.
I'm generally happy with the way things go in rimworld, nicely balanced.
Except wooden floors being 'labeled' as unattractive, i love me a wooden floor :P
