Title: Beta 19 - Why have animals been nerfed?
Post by: wombat on September 21, 2018, 12:05:07 PM
Has anyone else noticed that animals were severely nerfed in b19? Wool is fetching a much lower price and the tameness decay makes it very difficult to run a functioning ranch (as I like to do). Plus, I think several of the vanilla animals have had their intelligence reduced so they won't haul anymore.

I know Animal Logic has a feature to eliminate the tameness decay and it is easier to tame wild animals now but, overall, I think the changes from B18 to B19 have nerfed animals quite a bit. I miss b18 :(

only boars cannot haul in B19 i believe.  Although cougars CAN haul now.

That being said, even with 6-8 muffalo, i end up with far more wool than i'm capable of putting to use on a 12-18 person colony, and generally have plenty to sell...The inspirations also can have a significant impact on trade prices too.

The tameness decay is annoying, but I actually prefer it as it keeps my handlers gaining skill even if i'm not actively training up new haulers or taming new animals.

Boars needed to be brought into line because they were brokenly overpowered. Haul, reproduce like maniacs, easy to tame, strong in combat, eat anything. Literally no downside.
