Title: Hostile Trading/Negotiations
Post by: Ink. on July 12, 2014, 05:37:16 PM
So, I came up with this idea because of a situation that occurred.

This big battle occurred and they decided to run and kidnap who they can. They only made it out with 1 person, "Taz". But I also managed to capture on of their members.

So that made me think, what if we could have some sort of form of trading and negotiations with hostile factions. For example: Perhaps I could sell back their member or buy back Taz with currency (more reason for this below).

Or, if we both have a prisoner of the enemy, we could negotiate a hostage exchange where on the map they come with their hostage and what we have to do is bring our hostage there. Based on the storyteller, the deal could go smooth or they could try to backstab the player and take both hostages, meaning you might not want to send just one person for the deal. You might want to be armed, with snipers, etc.

This would also be cool if we could visit other colony's much like the AI does. Perhaps this could mean the player could go on a kidnapping mission and then demand ransom (sell back) the prisoner. Or maybe you don't want to do deals, so you get all your fighters armed and wearing armor, and you mount a siege on a kidnapper to try and recover your lost member.
