Title: [MOD REQUEST] Coins and Currency
Post by: MrSandv1ch on June 05, 2019, 01:40:15 AM
I'm suggesting a mod which creates a coinage and currency system, although largely based in vanilla rules. My ideas:

- Rename "silver" into "silver coin", still weighing 8g, and still worth $1;
- Rename "gold" into "gold coin", still weighing 8g. Make it always be worth $10 (non-negotiable);
- Create a new item, called "large gold coin", weighing 80g, always worth $100, and stacking up to 500 units;
- Make silver and gold ore drop raw ore when mined, which must be smelted into coins in a electric smelter, and make the raw ore prices negotiable;
- Option to uninstall the mod, converting the three new items into vanilla equivalents if possible;
- If possible, make the gold coins always show second and third in the trading screen;
- Create bills at the electric smelter to freely allow converting gold coins into the other type;
- New coin sprites, possibly with silly references to our RimWorld lore gods Phoebe, Cassandra and Randy.

The major point of this mod would be making hoarding large amounts of cash a bit easier, since it would increase the amount of wealth per tile possible. It's already possible to do so in vanilla by buying gold, advanced components and other valuables, however gold's price is variable, which doesn't really make much sense; why is silver a widely recognized legal tender, but gold not? And simply making comestic changes to vanilla silver and gold would make things easier when adding the mod to an existing save game.
