Title: Question about the steam workshop support for Royalty
Post by: Gravel on February 27, 2020, 10:47:42 AM
It might be a small thing, but I was wondering if there were plans to add stuff like a tag for DLC compatible mods. I know that Royalty is inherently mod-supported but trying to get mods for the DLC is confusing. A modder could not own the DLC but it could work fine, they could simply forget to put it in the mod desc, or the mod desc is so long and hard to navigate that downloading all those mods becomes that much more frustrating. i can imagine that people are jumping to make sure their favorite mods or the ones they deem necessities are DLC compatible.

I am not sure,
but doesn't they just need to add a dependies for Ludeon.RimWorld.Royalty at the About.xml ?

I can't speak for the devs, but i wouldn't say so.
Since when the base game made compactiblity for the mods ? It is allways the other way, mod's need to work with the basegame, and a DLC is part of the basegame too.
Only a few mod's get affected by royalty anyway. When the mod author of that mod is still active he allready should have made a update.

The devs have made changes for mods before and probably will continue to, if it's easy for them to do.

Sometimes the mod author is busy with other mods and doesn't have a chance to fix the mod Royalty broke (*ahem*, me)
