Title: Questions about unique Characters.
Post by: NöSTer on March 06, 2021, 04:48:02 AM
Hello dear Reader,

these are my Questions:

1. Why are unique characters even a thing?

2. How many unique characters are in the game of 1.2?

3. How can I turn unique characters off, so only random colonists spawn?

I have already met the same person four times in different playthroughs on different Planets and it is ruining my immersion!
(A pawn named Engie with the same skills and Backstory)

Thank you for answering my questions and/or helping me with the subject at hand.

Edit I found this

This covers question 2

Hi,
what do you mean with unique characters ?
So far i know there are only some pawn's with special names at the game, based on the Creative reward program.
But that is only name's (and maybe backstories) but their stats are random (if i am not be wrong).

You are right.
there is a DLC that let's you add the name of a pawn.
Somehow you can also purchase the ability to write a Backstory and a name for your pawn.
Mercenary tier (what ever that is) and up get to set skill offsets for their characters, basically creating new unique Characters that may or may not appear in every game.

may questions still persist.
