if a construction project hasn't been finished. Any non working character will automatically move to assist. All characters will work on said object at the same time. This will increase efficiency when constructing and will allow all characters to work instead of only 1 working and rest being idle.
Other than the star ship, things in rimworld dont take that long to build so i think thaf that would lead to a lot of extra effort and bugs

lol if your have superior crafting mod it takes a very long time to build anything as you start with bare minimum items. Having this style of constuction would speed up the process and make the game universal in the event of mod support :).
The only kind of construction teamwork I care to see is for haulers to focus on hauling goods to the work site.
There is a bit of an oddity where colonists with forbidden hauling can technically move goods to build with, and vice versa.
Team building would be good to see, have your colonists team up in a group of 3, one brings the resources, the other two follow the first to the site and construct the structures after the first has placed down the materials.
You require more vespene gas, general.
The Brotherhood of NOD is zerg rushing!
But, in StarCraft, only one SCV can build at a time...
And in C&C, you build buildings in the meta-layer, one at a time, then place them instantly...
There are actually design reasons they do this. They want to enforce a certain schedule of development. Just like me!
It might make sense in some cases to allow 2 or 3 builders (it could never be unlimited).
Age of Empires, Empire Earth, Age of Mythology (maybe... cant remember) they allow as many that can get around the object in question... so if its a monument\wonder it can take upto 8x8 blocks and have 2 people working per blockface on the perimiter (16+16+16+16 people working on it :D )

They are games based on base development speed in order to subdue the opponent before he can reach the same defense/attack level. Rimworld is about a daily simulation of survivors. Not the same objective. Managing time is important for your colonist will be busy and unable to help on other important stuffs. It can impact the whole game for largest structures building. It's better like that, even if some buildings like geothermal generators and all large structures should maybe allow more than 1 worker. And maybe take more time to build.

But in Starcraft the resources are plopped instantly. In Rimworld the goods have to be hauled over one stack at a time, and some jobs can take a LOT of hauls to finish!
When it comes to construction there are very few objects where a second
welder will make things happen any faster. Most welding happens in less than 2 hours game time, taking little more than a day at the
worst. A second worker can't even arrive to assist before the welding is finished. However when projects take 200 metal, 400 metal or more, it can take all day or worse to get the materials on site! I sure as heck would like the big jobs to get extra
haulers so they can start building. Maybe even include it as part of hauling duty, since that's a nice brainless task which doesn't require construction skill.

please let multiple people build the same thing (max of 3) And in AOE umm time is a important factor same way as rimworld.
IN rimworld you can build a wall to help keep safe
IN AOE you could do the same thing but both take time away from what you could be doing otherwise.
I think that at least it would be nice if multiple colonists with the Constructor job could add materials to the blueprint (currently in Alpha 6, they can't).

A workaround for this would be to put a small stockpile next to your building site with high priority. Several haulers could move the material at once and the builder could move the material to the building site really quickly.
