Title: Open or Close Metal Doors without colonists.
Post by: BetaSpectre on September 09, 2014, 05:15:34 PM
I just want to be able to keep my colonists inside whenever I want to and to let my turrets be hidden until some poor schmuck walks into their line of sight.

Remember those "hidden" turrets that are part of the floor. Only popping up when you get too close?

With Sieges and future changes such as sabotuers This wouldn't be an OP defense IMO. And if it is remember the hallway of dead/Kill Boxes are probably worse.

Do you mean like locking colonists inside? You will be able to do that on alpha 7

Not just locking, opening too.

I want to be able to physically keep the doors open so I can set up epic Kill Traps.

"prop door open" for manual doors, and "Keep open" mode for powered doors

That could be another advantage for powered doors, you'd need a colonist to walk over and prop the door but you can easily remotely open a powered door.
