Title: Addvice to deal with crashed ship Mechanoids

I am having a bit of trouble. Normally my base is well defended, with several overlapping kill zones. However, I have gotten the random event where a ship AI core will land, guarded by 3 Mechanoids, and slowly drive your colony insane. I have been unable to kill it. I shelled it with 3 mortars almost constantly for a week, but that barely put a dent in it. Every time I attack with my pawns it ends with a blood bath. Any advice to deal with them?

The cheap way is to build a wall around it and then make it collapse. ^^
There are a number of threads on this already, do a little research. ;)

EMP mortars help, they use a few shots before they adapt so strike hard and fast

2 centipedes and a Scyther.

don't destroy it with the wall thing, you won't get the AI core that way.

build sand bags around it for your men to shoot from. also get to it as fast as you can, same with the besiegers

The centipedes could be easy with range.....The scythe is very accurate though
