Title: Shooting skill.
Post by: tom_kazansky on October 15, 2014, 03:33:26 PM
I wonder why my fresh bought slave assasin with 15 shooting skill has a basic hit ratio(Shooter) of 2% (weapons/weather/cover make it worse). He's at full health(everything at 100%),except for an old scar at the torso.
Another guy from my initial crew has a Shooter rating of 40% while targeting from a longer distance, skill is 6...
Is there a way to regenerate that skill?

Trigger-happy, maybe? Check the assassin's traits. Give it a minigun, if so.

the distance and the type of gun matter too. The efficiency of a long rage weapons is reduced in medium to short range attacks. You have to find the right distance for each type.

Yes- trigger happy vs. careful shooter having 40%. The -30% is an absolute value?....   cruel.
I had to go to short distance to have a value more than 2%.     I checked~50% 75% or 100% max range it was 1% or 2%.

The funny thing is i bought him as shooter/hunter since everything else is disabled..

I'm serious about the minigun. Give him one as soon as you can get one. Missing a lot doesn't matter (it happens anyway), and having half the aiming time on a minigun is great.

In the meantime, if he isn't useful with any of your ranged weapons, maybe give him a melee weapon? Assassins are good at melee too and it isn't affected by trigger-happy.

It's unnecessarily dangerous to melee hunt, and trigger-happy hunting is terrible, as you've seen. Let your careful shooter take care of the hunting, they're good for it.
