I was wondering if anyone has done this before, or knows how to do this? What I mean by particle effects is, for example, the little sparkle that shows when a colonist is mining. If anyone could give me some tips on this, I would greatly appreciate it :)
You have a set of predefined ones in MoteMaker (like sleeping 'z', dust puff, firing flash, ...).
Otherwise, dll is your friend... ;)
Do you have any experience defining new ones? Say for example I wanted to make a couple of sparkles circle a pain for a second. I'm not at my computer at the moment so I can't ilspy it, buy you say MoteMaker defines the default game ones?
I'm making my own simple ones.
Is is quite simple in fact. Based on the available ones, it is easy to make yours.
Edit: you cannot for now incorporate your own mote texture, you have to use the available one...
