Title: Incompatible Savegame file?
Post by: thekillergreece on November 08, 2013, 06:28:56 AM
I downloaded the new version of the game and loaded the slightly old savegame and it keeps loading or says is incompatible...What?

Why is this happening? My friend also experiences this...A nice built colony with many colonists...And all these end up a failure?

I think, updates should be monthly, I dont want to start over and over from scratch every....week...

As for monthly updates. I think there can be an update whenever the developer choses. No one is forcing you to get the latest version and start over. More so the game currently doesn't even have a dedicated installation folder. As long as you remember which version your save files are from, you could just run one of the older versions?

Since this is all pre-alpha and everything can change at any moment it would be better to get used to it until a stable final release or at least beta version is available ;-)

Also, the message only tells you it is possible to expect bugs and incompatibility, it don't has to be ... so calm down and enjoy testing a new game

You're playing an pre-alpha so it basically comes with the territory, specially with such a committed dev pushing updates like crazy.
