Title: [MOD] (Alpha 8) EMP pistol

EMP Pistol

Description:
This is basically an experiment to see if I could make the fight between my colonists and the Mechanoids more even.

The EMP pistol works as advertised, however the Mechanoids quickly become immune vs EMP. It's a pistol, so the drawback is that you have to get in close to get the shot in while it does stun the mechanoids for a little while. Hopefully long enough for your R4-wielding kill squad to finish the job. I have created some custom graphics for both the pistol and projectile. 

A drawback is that pirates may spawn with the EMP pistol as well, disabling your turrets. Any kind of feedback on my first mod is appreciated!

How to install:
- Unzip the contents and place them in your RimWorld/Mods folder.
- Activate the mod in the mod menu in the game.

An EMP pistol/rifle would be more than a great addition to the game :)

A new graphic for the weapon and projectile would be a must tho :o

I'm not much of an artist, but I'll do my best :)

Maybe I'll even throw in a new sound effect (but don't get your hopes up too high ;-))

When I first started out, I could hardly figure out how textures work, much less draw them :o

The community here makes it really easy to learn :)

Looking forward to watching this progress :D

It would be very easy to make an EMP rifle as well, but I didn't want to make the game TOO easy ;-)

All right guys! I finally had some time and updated the mod with new graphics! The screenshot above shows a colonist carrying the weapon, the EMP pulse (near the top right turret) and the pistol on the ground in the bottom right.

It is however, still a pistol and not a rifle. I feel it would be a bit too easy if it were a rifle.
I also created a new sound for the pistol, but have not been able to get Rimworld to load it.
UPDATE: Fixed the sound problem :)

Feedback is welcome!

I like the idea !
But i "made" another sprite for the pistol because i like when it's vanilla-like :)

Do with you want, it's for everyone :)

I love the idea of pirates can disable the turrets but the range is too short, they never can fire one single bullet x)
I can try make a sniper EMP sprite if you want ? :x

I made the EMP Sniper Rifle "mod" based on your work and my sprite :p
You can add this in your mod too if you want.

Work pretty fine for me :D

Sorry for the somewhat delayed response, I have been traveling (and will do some more from Friday on). I have some time tomorrow night and I'll try to include both your new sprite and the sniper rifle (I'll make it a seperate download though so it's easy to enable/disable :)).

You might have seen it as well when using the vanilla EMP grenades or EMP mortars.

When you shoot the mechanoids a couple of times with EMP pulses, they get stunned at first, but then they will adapt to the stunning effects and are immune to EMP weapons for a while. This effect wears off after a specific amount of ticks (I think 1300 for turrets, 3000 for pawns, but don't quote me on that) and after that cooldown period they can be stunned again.

Of course, ideally they would be destroyed by then ;-)

Uses these sprites rather than the old, more border, more vanilla like :)
Small border make it less visible drawing.

You could code some special effect on mechanoids thrugh:)
Did try myself with emp stuff but the immunity did kinda broke the stuff epsecialy since immunity also negates the damage that the emp gun do.
Flame damage do a quick work of canepids even thrugh they dont get on fire also suffocation and extinguish work well to
