Title: Visitors and other Questions
Post by: Falcon_the_Slut on January 22, 2015, 11:36:06 AM
Hi, I'm new.

I have a lot of folks from other camps coming to visit my camp. They walk around, eat and then leave. Nothing ever happens and I can't seem to talk to them. Am I missing something? How can we communicate - what is the point of these visits?  Is just a chance for me to capture them, or what?

Thanks.

At the moment nothing really. I haven't checked if it increases relations after they visit but if you want you can capture them although they will become hostile. Or if you are lucky they will arrive at the same time you are attacked. They make great cannon fodder :)

If they're present when a faction that is hostile to them appears (such as pirates) or when an animal goes berserk, they'll also fight on your side.

Hopefully it gets fleshed out more, but there are currently one or two mods that allow you to "Save" injured visitors in hopes that they become well and don't die.

Also, they do "talk" to your colonists, the same way your colonists talk to one another. Word bubbles and the "had a social chat" or "had an unpleasant conversation" thought.

I do rather enjoy when two factions who hate each other but like me start killing each other.

Also...

Can you domesticate the muffalo or  deer or anything? Or at least pen them in for meat/hide breeding and harvesting?

Nope, not as of now.
