Title: Old Age
Post by: Nictis on July 26, 2015, 09:09:45 PM
Surviving to be Fifty-Four seems like something that would be considered an achievement nowadays on these inhospitable RimWorld's, so why is old age so common in the generation of pawns?

I'll be honest, I am mostly thinking about this after realizing that three of my five prisoners have cataracts that it is odd for the other towns to be throwing old people at me. How do they get to be so old with all these rampant squirrels and raids? I just think it would be better if the age generation worked with younger ages being a tad more likely than the older ones.

The current theory is that, when people become too old to work, they are send out to the wasteland, on the long walk. It is during this thousand miles journey that they saw a clutter of drop pods from a far. When they reached the drop site hoping to find something to eat, they instead found three dude (one always pantless) trying to grow corn in a cave.

Ridden with cataract, the old ones mistaken the corn for gold and decide to join the dude in their adventure of farming, carving rocks, eating lunch and not going anywhere.

This is the only way to explain why the survivors won't leave their cave to follow the first friendly party visiting their home and come back to civilization.
