Hi all!
Here is my attempt at playing with interesting XML save files!
I have so so far:
You'll need .Net Framework 4.5 now.
You'll need to get the updated Rimifier Dependents package as well
Updated to v1.0.2.0 (02-Feb-2014)
- Downloads from CodePlex from now on: Rimifier releases (https://rimifier.codeplex.com/releases/)
Very nice I'll download later and take a look. It now really sucks I don't write .net code we might of been able to collaborate. I might be wrong but isn't the other one .net code you should try and contact him and see if you can collaborate.
Quotethank to Ty
You must be brave man, and not complain... I was too disappointed after revealing some changes in the future release, but after all, they're mostly necessary.
Isn't it a challenge to figure out how to edit resources on map, instead of just changing numbers? Any kid can do that.
And that and colonist name changing are the only issues you might face in the end...

At the moment, the game is not restrictive in many ways. You can have all the traits in the save file. The effects will not stack. You can mix Childhood with Adulthood or have same backstory for both...
Right now, it's fun editing. And I believe we have all major section covered in the save file.
As for kid stuff, well, everyone started by editing the basic ones. I prefer editing save file instead of the Assembly-C#.dll which i have fully modified for insane fun and it's not kid stuff.
Oh damn... Was that post reply to me or the other guy? Sorry for my english, but I don't understand the context.

Sometimes, a sentence appears that I must read several times until I get it... Mostly, it's when don't focus what am I actually reading.

Oh, now I see it might seem I'm accusing to be a script kiddie or something... But that's not the point! I didn't mean it that way.
I was just trying to encourage to take the savefile changes for challenge, instead of nasty complication.

Challenge is always welcomed. I just need to steal more time for my coding hobbies... and I will. You and everyone else here who contributed in anyways are just awesome!
Update pushed. First post.
Can i request that the excessive backups get stored in a folder of the save name
Also can you add a way to "clone" colonists
other than that pretty good

Both your requests are live!
thanks, it looks good if I think of any thing I will ask
Everytime I start the Exe the computer loads for a little bit but nothing happens, I assume this means I don't have the required version of .NET?
(even though I have about 40 frigin versions installed, fuck you steam, fuck you)
do you have the dependents in the file with the exe
Quote from: why1do on January 19, 2014, 03:17:44 PM

the Rimifier.exe.config file is in the same place as the Rimifier.exe, which is in the same place as the rimworld exe.
go to
https://rimifier.codeplex.com/releases
get Rimifier Dependants
place at exe and config

Yes. Decide a folder for Rimifier, say
D:\Rimifier\Then, for once only, get the dependents: Rimifier Dependants (http://rimifier.codeplex.com/releases/view/117466) and extract the files to
D:\Rimifier\Then, get the latest release (v1.0.1.5 (http://rimifier.codeplex.com/releases/view/117465) at the time of writing this) and put/extract the
Rimifier.exe and
Rimifier.exe.confg in the same decided folder:

It's quite simple. Your folder of Rimifier should match the one shown in the screenshot in the documentation (http://rimifier.codeplex.com/documentation)
Heck I just released a newer build v1.0.1.6 and forgot the Rimifier.exe.config file. It still works. tested on three unsuspecting co-worker PCs and one laptop.
You don't need the full .Net framework either. Just the small-sized client profile will work download this: Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (Standalone Installer) (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24872)
Working, now Yay!
Although I found what I think might be a bug..
When you try to give your colonists equipment from having empty hands (as in never having carried a weapon) it does not work, I assume so because the entry in he save file does not exist yet, it gets written first when the colonists picks up a weapon (the the editor works flawlessly aswell)
Same thing with the Gender line. You can't edit the gender unless it's female as males simply don't have a <Sex> line in the savefile.

Excellent! Th weapons is a bug. I never intended to edit sex. In game, if there is null or no <sex>, it's a male else Female.

ah Ok, I missunderstood the purpose of having that entry in the editor then, no problem, sex is easy enough to edit in the save file manually :)
One feature I miss in this editor that the others have is to remove the slag and debris from the map. though I have no idea how to do that. Always end up having 50 dump areas clogged up with slag and debris :P
its says out of memory just as it finshes loading, helps?
Just tried the Editor. the latest version doesn't detect my colonists properly.

Don't worry guys... I've started working on the update... and since the game itself was major-hauled, the editor too cannot be that simple anymore. I was delayed because I can't friggin' shtaap playin'!

Looking forward to messing with the updated editor ;)
Released an updated version v1.0.2.0 @ https://rimifier.codeplex.com/releases
Currently, on the Zone Manager is working but I'm back in full swing and updating the Colonist Manager as we speak.
Everything has changed and please do report me my frack-ups as there will be many.
Works great. Thank you.
Just discovered this, looks promising and can't wait for the update ;D
Program opens all but one of my 334b saves from yesterday, it's not a big deal as I have plenty saves from before and after this piticular save, but thought I would post this error in case it helps the development ;)
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Okay. Can I get this save file? Looks like there is something I've overlooked. Maybe you can message me but if not, still message me and I'll give you my email address.
Hello!
I have been trying to find a good tool for editing (mostly cleaning) saves, and even though this one is quite old, it seems that it is the best one (potentially). Any chance that you will continue the development?
