Look image, I dug the mountain and part is not regarded as being under the mountain. (sorry for my bad english)

Most likely that was a thin roof.
And therefor it could collapse or not be there.
If you close off the mountain with a door it will close and roof the area.
Roofing will undergo some chances in the "near" future
