Title: Best biome to start a nice base?
Post by: Aleksh on August 28, 2016, 02:57:24 PM
I've been considering making a type of fallout-esque survival barracks, and I was wondering what's a good spot for it?
Jungles and forests are fairly boring, honestly.

Arid, Desert and Extreme Desert are obvious picks. If you want to make a true Fallout shelter, I'd go with a desert or arid mountainous map, and dig in to the mountain. You can scenario edit in permanent Toxic Fallout if you want to make it super hardcore, but be prepared for a meagre existence at start. A mountain base can take significant time even with several miners.
