Section A)
Can modpack makers include your mod in their modpack?

That's fine, but if possible I would prefer it done through Steam Workshop.
I am hosting the updates there, and you are able to make packs with Steam pretty easy.
If you do this, just contact me in one of the threads about the mod there.
I will check it out and link to it in the thread.

Section B)
Can other modders make derivative mods based on yours?

If you have interest in doing this, contact me on the Steam Workshop page
for this mod, we can talk about what you have planned.  The whole point of
this mod is to save you the time from having to do all this stuff, but if you feel
like you want to work with me, contact me there.  I would like that if you have plans
to make something Star Wars in Rimworld, we all work together to try to make
all the mods work together.  Or if you just have suggestions or ideas, drop them by
the Steam Workshop page and just comment or post in the forum part.

I might get an alternative type link up for those that are unable to or refuse to use Workshop for "reasons" heh.

All I ask is that after you try it out, if you can comment, like, rate, fave, or any of the things you
find apply on my Workshop page for this mod as those numbers reflect the success of the mod,

I like the lightsabers. I think the armor's art style could be a little closer to stock though.
If he hasn't shown up yet, kaptain_kavern is/was working on a starwars mod, over in the unreleased subforum.

I request ewoks or jawas. At least the jawa robes. :)

Actually I did make an R2 helm.  In fact, I was like, why stop there.
I added the body too. 
But then I was like .. why just one .. so I added C3PO head to the mix.

Then I was like .. but I want them alive .. so I made a Droid Faction.
I also made a Droid "Race" as well, so later I can do a bit more
advanced stuff with them, like alternate mechanical parts etc.

Thanks on the feedback of the lightsabers.  I haven't got enough feedback on balance but I have been slowly balance tweaking them a bit,
and the adding of the new resource to build the top end sabers I think will expand the game a bit.  You will want the crystals,
but have to kill Jedi or Storm Troopers and maybe droids sometimes. 

I hear you on the graphics.  I hope you voted in the poll.  I want to see after we get quite a few thoughts on this where we are.  But I have had thoughts on this depending if we did go that direction. 

A)  Release an alternate version with the skins that attaches to this mod (An Add-On of sorts)
B)  I talked to the guy from Rimwars and he has some pretty Rimworld art for a few of the things already.
I thought about getting with him to patch in so people can use the features of my mod, but some things can be re-skinned using his mod perhaps.  that way people can play how they want and everyone gets to work together.

I had actually thought after release about going back over the graphics, but I wanted to see how much people were focused on that.
I want to get as many features as possible out so that if its Star Wars and its possible to do it, its in this, heh.
But also if it was a hangup I needed to focus a bit before doing too much more of course.

I had thought about jawas as a faction and all the stuff they need.  Just waiting for someone to suggest it so that I can move it up the stack to something people want :)  Ewoks were at the way back of my mind, but damnit that would be good.  Probably would be forced to consider sand people before ewoks if I did that, but thats also not set in stone.  But Jawas, will get that going this weekend maybe :)

I do plan on expanding that a bit more though.  I have just been all over the place with features, tweaks, and updates.

UPDATE -  New ADD-ON for Not My Father -

NEW Re-Texture GFXPACK1 - Headwear ONLY patch
From some poll numbers, I wanted to try my hands at an optional feature for the mod such as a GFX reskin.
This way people can use the original if they want, or if they like this new style of headwear, use this instead.

And fear not, I do plan on doing the bodywork too, and MAYBE this weekend depending on response. 
But if not I will focus on features instead, so we will see some new content likely either way.

Also, I might be able to use this system to allow other mods too hook into this that offer different skins as well,
and it gives me a way to make other options that maybe people do or don't want without splitting the main
base into the Not my Father vs Not my Father SHH crowd. 

I think I might even find a way to just make the theme music optional to merge that gap at some point now that
we have our first Add-ON Pack.  Let me know what you think.  I know some of you wanted a COMPLETE overhaul
with pixel by pixel work, and that might also still happen.  Just wanted to see how people take to the first pack to
see how much interest there would be in going further.

I have to say I much prefer the newer heads, although the green tinge in the screenshot makes it a bit hard to judge correctly.
As for optional GFX patches and packs, my concern for you would be having too many balls to juggle as this thing picks up steam. Every time you release a new faction (assuming you do), that's another GFX patch that needs to be done, and it just strikes me as a headache that you don't need. I would pick a single art style and stick with it.
Alternatively, something that would still hit the graphical diversity nerve (but would require a little bit more work), is if you actually created full new apparel pieces. The most obvious is Stormtropper armor for Snow/Hoth or armor for Desert/Tatooine, with stat bonuses accordingly. Jedi/Sith robes would be another (social impact, chance to social fight, etc). Might not be terribly exciting, but would give you a chance to refine things some.
Keep in mind, I'm not an artist, so my advice might not be worth a whole lot. ;D

i like this mod thx for bringing in some difference, the biggest problem for me is that now as a melee u can't hunt hope someone will bring a mod that will allow this, since drafting pawns to hunt with lightsaber sucks :(

Thanks for the feedback!  Yeah I think I agree, I need to take pictures during the day, I will update that today sometime.

Your concern about multiple graphics is noted.  The good news is that, the GFX packs have ZERO code in them.
So that, when a new patch version comes out, I just need to update the main core mod each time. 

But also like you mentioned, it might be possible to make theme packs, one for each planet, Hoth / Tat, etc.
Plus, the big kicker is, I did this because I know there are people that might want to add their own graphic,
packs to this mod themselves. 

Although now that I am thinking, a graphic pack won't cut it for like snow clothes that need snow stats.  But
I think if I add those things, they might just be part of the main core, and some updated graphics packs might
be made after the fact.  I'm kind of a get it working first, then polish it kind of guy, and this way, just in case
someone likes the original styles, they can run with it, but I love how modular Rimworld is, so thought this
would be a good way to do it.

Lastly, it dawned on me last night, that I split the Not my Father and Not My Father Shhh community in half,
and one way I can get around that is merge the two together and make the intro/extro music an add on
for those that want it.  And it seems more want it, but like what said before, splitting into 2 mods requires
2 times the updating, so I think in the long run when I do that I think it will solve that problem at least,
as well as offer things like, maybe someone wants to use a Space Balls GFX pack to go with this mod, for lols.

I am encouraging graphic artists to make GFX packs for my mod as well, the one I built is somewhat a template
for others to consider.  Granted, probably once I make pack 2 with the coats/shirts and such it will be more obvious.

No problem!  Originally when I did the mod I was sort of going for the larger head look, but after releasing another mod,
I found that some people didn't agree that was the way to go, so I started working on scaling the head-wear down to
actually fit right over the normal sized head.  And I have to agree, it fits much better.  So since it worked there, I thought,
can I make an add-on for this mod that does the same thing?  And here we are.

Now don't forget, Not My Father has a Force Crafting station as well you can research and build, and by using that instead
of the lightsaber, force powers will count as a ranged weapon and thus you should be able to hunt with it, and no on screen message
should complain you only have melee weapons.  Hope that fixes it for you.  But in my game, I do the single Jedi start thing so I get
a White Lightsaber, and that thing is beast early game, but mid game you will need some ranged for sure.  But I think I recall my guy hunting automatically with the lightsaber, but the popup complaining it about not being ranged is still shown.

Personally, in my current save game, I have a mix, I find the melee guys/gals and make them a lightsaber, and then the
ranged guys I have them loot the Storm Troopers and wear and use their gear to have some ranged to
mixed with my Jedi melee units.  Although later, I build them Force Powers to replace the guns as I see fit.

Although it seems a good chunk wanted this graphics pack (as well as a body one too I bet in the future) I do suspect, there are still some voting on the poll that find that this GFX pack still isn't up to the level they want.  Do not fear, the fact that packs are now able to be used with this mod means that at some point I will find time to make alternatives that might fit what you prefer better.  And the even better news is, maybe there is a graphic artists that wants to do a GFX pack for Not My Father?  I want my mod to work with these official add-on packs, but ALSO allow the community to make them as well.  So stay tuned, but I think this weekend I might go for features or perhaps do the Audio/pack split I was thinking about as well, but anywho, have fun all.

Do you have a link to the hunting mod as well?  I could take a look at it and see what
was done, and apply it to the lightsaber code. 

And yeah I heard about the other one after mine had been out for a while.  I just released it and
maintained it on Steam and had not been over to these forums until recently.  If its the same one
I am thinking about, I have already talked to that mods owner and it looks like we are going to
make sure our mods work together if possible.
