unlikely hero is unlikely for a reason....and one can only "run" for so long. Eventually knowlege will be needed to build or craft, strength will be needed to fight, and health will be needed just to survive.
Theres a reason starting as depraved in dark souls is meant as a challenge.

Hm... The stowaway looks like she is spying on someone. I'm not a voyeur so it doesn't appeal to me. Although that thing wrapped around her arm is curious it's not enough to interest me.
The botanist looks like she is in space. Still, it just looks like she is doing some botany. Boring.
The subject looks like he's glitching. Maybe he is a subject of an experiment. Looks interesting.

Chaplain's Dog tags indicate a military background, that's made me go back and look at details....
Was getting a somewhat shepard book vibe before the gif finally played. (A war vet haunted by his past perhaps?)
Green paper has a red cross through it, the PDA looking thing also has a cross. Bible has a blood splatter, screen behind him's cracked.
Botanist has what looks like a love letter/note of some description (Upside down love heart) and what I'm presuming is a trowel, however it could be a form of knife/dagger etc. plus a Pistol looking object, could be a water pistol for all we know. :P
Can't make out much from the other two, the characters are deeper than they appear at first glance. Definitely caught my attention.
