Title: [A16/A17][WIP] Ancient Rim (2nd Oct17)

This mod is in a WIP phase, so it's soon release-able ;).
It will add some stuff like apparel, weapons, furniture and factions to the game, which are based on the ancient world. This means Romans, Celts and so on.

At the moment there is a bunch of furniture, some armor, a bit of classic art and a lamp. And there is a faction, based on the Roman Legion. Also there is some stuff, that add the feeling of the Roman/Greek way of Life.

v.0.05- A16 compatible, two new tables, no requirement to Faction Colors
v.0.06- reworked apparel tags, research project added
v.0.07- classic art and oil lamp
v.0.08- lorica musculata and requirement to Faction Colors is back
v.0.09- Faction
v.0.10- faction improved
v.0.11- Hellenic pawns
v.0.12- minor fix
v.0.13- more minor fixes, double klinai bed
v.0.14- 3 new haircuts, more will come later
v.0.15- workbenches, new toga and ballistae
v.0.16- fixed benches
v.0.17- artichokes, tiny texture changes and more Hellenic names
v.0.18- olive tree, mosaic "rugs" and 2 Hellenic haircuts
v.0.19- fountain, chalmys-cloak and much more minor improvements
v.0.20- craftable uniform armor and banners
v.0.21- removed all stuff depending on FC, added praetorian guard pawn with specific armor
v.0.22- FC is back, bronze spawns lesser
v.0.23- mosaic floor, aqueduct, pomegranate
v.0.24- new pawn and helmet, onager added


If someone has ideas to new ancient features, he/she is welcome to tell it. I would also welcome if somebody has some courage to take part on this mod, like as an artist to draw a few items or as a coder to define them. :)

Hey koni, do you realise you can add faction colors assembly to your mod so people don't have to download faction colors? Just a little tip :P

I know that, but I don't like to remove this independence.

Can you add some Roman Columns and/or Obelisk for a decorative item? Perhaps make it at the sculptors bench.

After more then one month I am back here. The faction is a bit improved, has more pawn kinds.
The next planed things are some Greek warriors and faction based hairstyles.

Can you make Wild Olive Trees grow in the Arid Scrubland and Temperate Forest?

Also can you make some sort of like Ancient Forge for the armor? Getting unlocked the Fueled Smithy when using the Medieval Mod means they stick it in like the colonial era. So I don't want to have to go all the way there to unlock it. Alternatively i guess the crafting spot would work. But a new Ancient Forge for your mod would be better.

Noted. Your ideas will be considered.
But I take care of the Obelisk later, in the planed "Desert" part of Ancient Rim, as an Egyptian sculpture. And double klinais didn't exist in reality.

Suppose I have a mod that wants to incorporate textures from other mods. Do you mind if I take a few of your work into this mod of mine and give you the credit for the respective textures being used?

Well I cannot seem to get the faction color mod to work. Which is why it would be nice if it was either integrated into your mod or a separate version without it.

I cannot update FC for my own, because I'm lacking the required skill to do that. But actually there is a AR version which don't contains the FC features to get it independent.

Noticed. But my plan was to create 3 separate mods: Mediterranean, which contains Rome and Greece, maybe Cartago, Dessertous, which contains Egypt, Persia, Nubia, Arabia and so on and Barbarian, which contains the Germanic tribes, Gaul, Britain and other "northern" cultures. Actually I'm obviously at the Mediterranean part, where the last improvements are in work. And here I lack also in ideas.

I did more sieging stuff, reworked floors and made mew metals, I short. The change log isn't actualized, because the mod went to the release section. But I keep this topic open, because there will be at least two mods in future, as a mod series.

I was thinking about a workaround :

shield and sword as one item, which puts the abilities of both into one slot.

This would include a lot of possible recipies, if you think about it, but could at least work.

Also wasn't there a shield mod for A15 or A16 ? .. maybe you could look at that

Sword and shield as one item.. This is a very good idea! Tomorrow I'll start to translate this into action. FC allows colored weapons, so the red legionaries have red shields too, same with the green. ;D
