Presently many people seem to think that
sand is too cheap of a commodity. I doubt
it could be redeveloped as insulation for
more offshore housing near acid swamps.
Even so, many people probably would like
the view but still probably wouldn't ask about
the plumbing, gas leaks and damage to glass
panes from quakes.
Until someone discovers a cheap way to refine metamorphic rocks from wet sand with almost no waste...
