May Cthulhu bless you with his mighty tentacle beard.

This is awesome! I am waiting some days now for something to fix the tech tree.
Last night i thought how nice it would be to have our old tech screen back.
And today you gave us this christmas present.Thanks.

Awesome. Thank you very much. I like the idea behind the new tree, but it's clearly not ready. Functionality > Aesthetics.

That depends entirely on how you use the new tree. It will require some of the much larger mods to make compatability patches for other popular mods. Or as some have suggested, maybe someone will make a tab option mod for research, that way each specific mod has its own research tab.

I have found a way to hide base game research again for A16, which was all I was needing

Oh perfect. I wanted to deal with some of the cut off tech pieces from some of my mods. Is this save game compatible?

So will this show up the tech tree for mods as well? If it doesn't work, can I uninstall it without corrupting my save game?  Thanks! :)

This is not a gamechanger mod, it just change the display.
You can add or remove it without danger.

Instructions on how to download modifications for Rimworld!
PC HELP:
1) Download it! If you are having trouble, it may be your internet, your computer, or just spamming the download button because it wasn't loading...

2) The file you get will most likely be zipped (compressed), use your decompression tool of choice (winzip, winrar, 7zip with help to use it on bottom) to extract the files.

3) Move the folder into the mods folder, located in your Rimworld install location, make sure that the mods files are 1 level deep (for example /mods/modname/defs. not /mods/modname/modname/defs as sometimes happens, or /mods/defs/. For putting in mods manually in steam, go to Program Files (x86 if you have 64bit)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Rimworld/Mods to find the mods folder.

4) Start Rimworld and select "mods" from the menu, here you can activate and deactivate mods. Some mods are buggy when you open mods folder and exit it without quitting the game. These include Clutter, and some others not mentioned. If you're unsure, then quit the game and start it up again. I recommend quitting and restarting the game, as it's always nice to be safe.

-snip-
This should help you (i hope).

Just posted a quick video about the mod.  Everyone can take a look at how it looks like in-game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rF54-MNgVLM  You can just skip to the 1:00 min mark to see how it looks like.

Thank you modder for making this mod and posting it up.

It's basically just a list of research items to choose from. I'm on an iPad right now or I'd post a screenshot. I'll check back later today and if no one has done it yet, I will.

edit: here is a pic with old style research menu active: http://imgur.com/IFJ033L

Honestly, I think I'd be interested in this as well. It would make a great companion to ResearchPal. The lack of seeing the numbers in ResearchPal along with the sometimes stacking of techs would make this very handy.

Thirded. I'd prefer a plain list view to the complication (and problems it invites) of ResearchPal.

lol, I do. Well for the 5 or 6 mods I can't get anywhere else :)

Which after I subscribe I then copy them, archive them and then install them manually!

It also makes a good place to check for updates. I "favorite" mods I like, even if I don't get them from Steam. I can then easily go to my favorites in Steam and list them by "date updated." Very handy!

I NEVER install and use them via Steam though!!
