Ive started afew different coloneys and for some reason i dont get many events or raids or anything even tried randy intense / extreme and after say 2hours of playing i got a person get malaria and say afew thunder storms, even with the other tellers nothing happens maybe the first month stuff happens then nothing. any ideas? i do use mods mainly the main ones everyone uses to make little things better.
Does the same thing happen when you are playing without mods? If you haven't played the game without mods then is there any chance of you creating a quick game to test it? You can use the dev console/God mode to rapidly speed things up by instantly building stuff.
There have been some reports of this type of issue in the past, although they were mostly to do with a major bug in the initial release of A15 where most of the events got accidentally disabled. Here is one of those threads from that time. https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=21627.0 (note there's a typo in Tynan's post, as I assume he must mean 15b not 12b).
There has also definitely been at least one other report about this, from another time, because the user included a save game that I can clearly remember loading. I couldn't reproduce the issue from the save, but the game definitely looked "wrong" in that, IIRC, a year or more had past and there was no sign of anything having happened on the map (I'll try and find that thread now).
So it would help if you can try playing a pure vanilla game to test if you are getting events normally, even if you just God mode a colony and let it run in the background, just to see if your game is triggering events properly,, and to rule out any possibility of mods affecting things.
i tried what you said and found it was one of the mods was a personality / relationship one no idea how or why but got stuff working again, hit with all kind of disasters the way it should be haha thanks again.
Good to hear you managed to find the cause of the problem, and that your game is once again mercilessly throwing events at your beleaguered colonists :)
If you did manage to isolate the cause of this to one mod in particular, then I'm sure the author of that mod would be appreciative of it being reported to them so that they can (hopefully) fix it. As if it was causing a bug for you, then it's very likely to be causing a bug for others (and they might not have realised there's a bug, given its nature)
Anyway, moving this to mod bugs, and also want to thank you for posting again with an update. It's always appreciated when people do that so that we know the current situation on open bug reports (as opposed to those who subsequently fix their bugs but don't post again to tell us, meaning we're left trying to chase up loose ends a few weeks later).
