The statistics tab reports a colonist death on start of game (before pods even land). Opened save file to find location of dead body, found inside an ancient danger.
Death happened inside cryopod inside of an ancient danger.
Expected death to occur.
Did not expect death to count against "colonist died" in statistics tab.
