Title: Can Armor be Smelted?
Post by: Hans Lemurson on February 19, 2017, 11:07:39 PM
I have a large amount of 20% durability armor vests lying around from raiders, and rather than selling it for pennies to traders I was wondering if it is possible to melt it down for scrap.  I remember doing this in A15, but there doesn't seem to be any options for usefully disposing of Helmets/Armor in A16.

Have you checked already if there are any resources left after you burn it in a crematorium?

I don't think there is a way, I wish there was a way for that, too. Like smelting weapons.

On the sea-ice, I didn't have enough spare materials to build a crematorium just to "find out".  I also miss the ability to decompose Stone Clubs back into useful stone, even though that was a bit weird for a "smelter" to do.  Calling it a "Recyclotron" might work.

Does smelting a weapon give you anything except steel?  Do you get any components back out of it?
