Thanks for the music mod! Looks like it should play nice with p-music.

For anyone else curious about the music mod (Verge of Galaxy): It fits the game well, it's a tad bit more country than game-y [compared to the OST which has a more of an ambient electronic feel to it's country-ish style]. The mod has some skilled folks playing guitar. It's country. It's good. No lyrics. Solid choice if you feel like country fits Rimworld (which it does).

Thanks!

...Hello everyone. Sorry for being silent for so long (University...).
Everything is updated to run on RimWorld 17b. Also, I need to mention that Metro Armory and Vanilla-like Wheat received some tweaks so they blend better into the general feel of the game.
If you notice bugs/problems/things that need to be balanced - post all of that here.
About VOG - it'll still run fine with the newest version of the game, but if you want to get rid of that nasty warning message, all you have to do is change   <targetVersion>0.16.1393</targetVersion> to <targetVersion>0.17.1557</targetVersion> in the .../Mods/VergeOfGalaxy16.0/About/About.txt
Also, I'll try to upload a video to YouTube within few days so all the people who are unsure wether they want to download it or not can listen to the music first.

Any chance for CE compat version of Metro Armory? I mean i totaly can do it myself using CE guides but it's much better if original author could look for stats and adapt them according to his initial design.

Curious if you planned on making a Metro universe, factions, monsters etc., I think this would be a goldmine. Metro is such a fascinating series with great lore. Definitely giving the music and weapons a try.

You can be sure that I'll do it, but it's not my top priority right now

Now that is the thing that is my priority ;)
I'm in the process of designing and listing what do I actually want to do and put in there, so I can't tell you exactly how it'll look like, but:
- there will be at least one faction(s)
- Ushanka will be expanded, so i'll contain some stuff for the faction
- there will be a monster pack, they will appear in-game mostly through events, like extereme man-hunting packs
- maybe metro-themed event pack (that would include animals?... I dunno)

How much time it'll take me? I have no idea. Could be a week, could be months. Good news is that my exams are almost finished and I'll have alot of time to fiddle with mods again ;)

Great Music selection in the music mod.

Do you upload your mods to Steam?  I tried to find it there, but could not. It's ok, I got it from Nexus.
I ask because I wanted more people to be able to experience your fine mods.

New mod released - Don't Shave Your Hair! (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=30920.msg316247#msg316247)

Pictures tell more than a thousand words, so:

...Yes. You won't have to shave your hair just to put sunglasses on!
And yet again - I really want to emphasize that this mod would not exist if not NoImageAvailable.

I nabbed this hair/hat mod, hoping it works with facialstuff, at least from what I read its most of what you said is compatible was made from facialstuff.

I meant to ask you this awhile back but forgot, the links you have on Verge, they only link to a16, not a17b. Even if its 17b but doesn't say it, it still doesn't seem to work in game. Any idea why if the version is correct with just an incorrect version number?

I nabbed this hair/hat mod, hoping it works with facialstuff, at least from what I read its most of what you said is compatible was made from facialstuff.
Honestly, i'm afraid it won't work with facialstuff :(

I meant to ask you this awhile back but forgot, the links you have on Verge, they only link to a16, not a17b. Even if its 17b but doesn't say it, it still doesn't seem to work in game. Any idea why if the version is correct with just an incorrect version number?
Truth is, it's all good,  but it's just showing the bad version. It should load normally, but if for some reasons it's not, i'll upload specifically A17b too :)

How is this different from this https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=33575.msg348890#msg348890

That mod just displays regular hair sprites with hats, causing all kinds of clipping issues. DSYH displays specially adapted sprites that always fit exactly underneath the headwear your pawns are wearing. So you can have long hair showing underneath a helmet without also having mohawks clipping through said helmets.

It started to work, however I don't seem to hear much of the songs. I even have a Disable Vanilla Music Mod, which I guess doesn't work, because I heard vanilla music.

Edit:
The music works, however I don't hear the new songs often as I'd imagine. It does work though. DSYH, I can confirm FacialStuff from the Steam Workshop does not work.

Thank you, I'll note that on the main post.
As for frequency - It's a known thing among RimWorld music mods to do so. Or mabe you just don't notice it? ;)  (always an option, right?...)

Hmm, I'm also running C&P as well. I'm still going to assume FS just doesn't work with it though.
It is very possible to ignore the music and I just never noticed.

Hey, I was playing with "Vanilla-like wheat" mod for some time, and now have a bug report:

Operating milling stone and milling machine is considered a cooking job, it speeds up with high cooking skill, but it increases pawn's crafting skill instead of cooking and all the bills have "Allowed crafting skill" slider instead of "Allowed cooking skill". This is kinda confusing. :-\ Since grinding looks much more like a cooking than tailoring/smithing/crafting goods - I suggest you make grinding a legit cooking job!

That's all, everything else is working fine. :D

I'm interested in "Dont shave your head" mod... i'm currently running headgear frame mod (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=931727676), and apparello seems not compatible with that mod coz i'm getting bald pawns whenever i wear headgear from that mod... i don't know if the mod author is still planning to maintain that mod, so now im looking for alternatives...

i already looked at this mod https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=33575.msg348890#msg348890, and it seems a no go coz it is incompatible with Children and preggers mod...

i'm hoping your mod can fill the gap on the head of my pawns by helping them prevent baldness lol

Well, to be honest, incompabilities with mods such as Child & Preg. mods may occur, as it mess with the game quite a bit. But I'm not a C# guy, so I can't tell you much about it in the detail.
As for DSYH, it should work with majority of the mods (that don't mess with the pawns) and all of the xml mods.

Also side note here - compability textures for Rimsenal hair pack are about 80/90% done, I just need to find some time to finish few of them and then release it.

DSYH is potentially compatible with other mods that change pawn rendering, assuming they also use Harmony transpilers instead of detours to make their changes. All the other "show hair with helmet" type mods I've seen were using detours which are inherently incompatible with anything modifying the same methods.

C&P is also using transpilers nowadays so should in theory be compatible with DSYH.

I'm not sure if I understood you correctly...
...If you're reffering to the Verge Of Galaxy music mod, it's ONLY a music mod...
That means, if you don't want any music, just don't download it... My mods are completly fine on their own.

Hello everyone!
I've just made a new mod - Patchwork Textiles (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=30920.msg316248#msg316248).
Now you can solve one of the most annoying RimWorld nuances - tons of leather and wool that can't be used because they have different types!

Hello and welcome!
This time I updated Vanilla-like Wheat.
Summing up version 17.1:
- crafting skill required to operate querns is now changed to cooking;
- doubled the amount of items on the input and output of the recipes;
- processing wheat now gives you off hay instead of straw;
- straw now DOES NOT SPOIL;
- to get straw, you have to build (and use!) Hay Rack (to dry hay and get straw);
- visual candy - immature wheat is now green.

I'd like to thank here Kubouch for his Universal Frementer mod (I used it to make Hay Rack)

Hello everyone!
An updoot of Metro Armory to RimWorld B18 has arrived.
Weapons are re-balanced to better fit their roles and holes they are supposed to fill (again...)
I've also refreshed the texture set so it fits the vanilla a little bit better. But if you feel that old ones were better - there's a version with the old textures too.
Another small change that i made was renaming the category under which all the weapons are under - istead of Metro Armory it's now called Type M. weapons. Why did I do that? In my recent play-through I've noticed that it was breaking game immersion a bit - so I've decided to change it.
As always, if you have anyting to report, please do so.

I've been reviewing this thread, and all the mods in it. And I must say, hats off to the author. Everything is so well laid out, great mods, great art style, just everything is so damn nice. The Patchwork Leathers RimWorld font even has little stitching in it. C'mon man, that is some real dedication. And I really appreciate all this little attention to detail. It lets me know that some real heart got put into this work, and I think the author deserves some recognition. Also look how there are links to everything you could ever need. Downloads, direct downloads, steam, alternate or old versions, etc. The author has tried to take care of anything you could need, and it really shows!

One of the other things that has me excited for the future, is how many reserved posts there are for future mods! All the more reason to want to come back to check up on this thread. I'm also glad I came back to check it, too, because I had totally passed over the Patchwork Leather mod before and now that's just what I was looking for!

Anyway OP I was curious what program you used to make your textures for DSYH with new hair styles. I have a little bit of time on my hands, and have been learning some stuff with Paint.net recently. I might give it a shot with some of Roppoi or Xeva hairstyles, although I am probably not going to make them look well, but I still want to try :) Do you have any recommended setups or programs that made things easier? I feel like if I could get in the groove of making the first few, the following won't be too tough. It's just getting to the point where I can make them look decent within a decent amount of time.

Right now, the only hair mods I use are the ones supported by DSYH, but I also want to expand with Roppoi and Xena's hair mods. Would it be possible for us to just get a rough estimate on when (if we are even getting them) we could possibly expect it? I understand sometimes people don't want to say dates because then that can set others up for disappointment. But my reason for asking was that if it was going to be a few months at least, then I might try to make them for myself, until we get the official releases.

Also, do you have any hints or tips on getting started making textures look how you do with either your weapons or apparel? The Metro Armory textures, it just looks so very beautiful to me, like it really belongs in vanilla, and I wish I could replicate this style.

Finally, could we get any hints as to what might occupy then next "reserved" mod slot in this thread? ;D

Thank you for all of your hard work. I am especially appreciative of DSYH. Without it, pawns would look like crap!

EDIT: Also, if we use the option from the regular RW options screen "Only show hats on map" so that our colonists on the colonists' bar up top are displayed with their hat/helmet taken off, so that you can see their face. But with DSYH running, it will show what their "special" hair looks like, if they are having to use a special texture from your mod because they had headgear on. Could there be some sort of flag, so that if you have this vanilla option turned on, that the pawns picture in the bar up top will show them with regular hair, but then when we see pawns anywhere else on the map, they still have all the proper looks coming from your mod?

I ask because if I want to use Roppoi or Xena's hair mod, I may want to turn on the RimWorld option to "Disable hats except for world map" so that way in my colonists' bar I can see these hair styles, and not have the game "shave their heads". ;) Or maybe an option within DSYH to allow us to turn on the "disable hats" option for only pawns who's hairstyles are not supported by DSYH. I think that last part may sound a bit confusing...

Essentially, I want to have DSYH enabled, but for hairstyles not that are not supported by it, have for them, and only them, the RimWorld option enabled for "Don't show hats except on world map". Would something like this be possible?

In Metro armory there are two sound def bugs, the mod is trying to use InteractPistol for a sound, but RW has only InteractAutopistol and I think the other one is revolver, it was for two knife sounds, here is one of them.

Mate theres quite a few patch leather mods out here(I counted at least 4) and i gotta tell you i chose yours because it didnt add excessive reclaim fabric features, but more than that the patchwork texture looks sleek. Good job.

To be honest, i do each hairstyle by hand in Gimp 2.8. I start with a hair texture, then i put a head overlay over it, cut it to the desired shape, add a missing outline, and that's it.
Also, i think it's important here to note that even though i like drawing, I'm not an artist or anything by any means, that's why stuff takes me so much time.

Honestly, i recently passed winter semester on my uni, so i'll spent here 2-3 weeks before going to "sleep mode" here again. This means If i won't do anything in that time, it's very unlikely that I'll make anything for next few months. I know it sucks, but hey, i'm not going to lie about it. That's how it is.
If anything, I'll try to update Spoon's hair compability and add Xeva hair compability. Roppoi hair mod is just too big for me to handle. that's what she said!

Also, do you have any hints or tips on getting started making textures look how you do with either your weapons or apparel? The Metro Armory textures, it just looks so very beautiful to me, like it really belongs in vanilla, and I wish I could replicate this style.
I work in Gimp 2.8 and Inkscape. Fist give you nice options for normal pixelart/shading/texturing, latter gives you alot of control over the shapes and scalability. Vector graphics (Inkscape) are also easier to modify and work with (at least in my opinion).
As for making art... It's hard to say. Take your time and don't push it. When i was making all these hats and stuff, i was looking at real photos from the google from few perspectives, then trying to recreate it. Again, vecor graphics gives you heve nice options to trace/reshape things.

Finally, could we get any hints as to what might occupy then next "reserved" mod slot in this thread? ;D
I'm just about to release American Civil War Weapons that i re-wrote from A14 (originally made by Anonemous2) ;)

To be honest, NoImageAvailabe stands behind coding work. I'm C# noob and hardly understand anything from it. But hey, we'll see about that.

In Metro armory there are two sound def bugs, the mod is trying to use InteractPistol for a sound, but RW has only InteractAutopistol and I think the other one is revolver, it was for two knife sounds, here is one of them.
I'll fix that in the next release (probably tommorow).

Also damn, that's one long post.

Today is my big day - I've finally released American Civil War Weapons (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=30920.msg316247#msg316247) mod. It's a very small mod that adds few weapons from the era and a gatling turret. So... What's special about it? Well... This mod was one of the first mods that I ever installed, and later on it got me into the modding. So I guess I owe it updating to the B18 from A14 (it has been a while...). (ye' olde A14 version post) (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=15069.0)
Many thanks to Anonemous2 for allowing me to work on it.
---
Metro Armory updated (both old and new texture versions); it'll no longer display any error messages. I was also quite surprised to discover that melee weapons have no pick-up sounds (somehow I didn't notice it until now), but i decided to leave mine with them anyway. I've also added translation to my native language - Polish.

Hell yeah, awesome! I'm always so happy when you put out some fantastic new artwork for us. They textures look really great, and will help fill a technological gap that vanilla seems to have.

Thanks for this! ;D

So I've been really torn recently, but I ended up sticking with DSYH. I had been messing around with Facial Stuff, but I kept having so many other errors and issues that everything seems so much better that I've turned it off. Reason I wanted to use it, was because it supported all hair styles added by mods. But it had the extra baggage of the other stuff in it that I didn't want.

Anyway, I have also recently discovered the Kantai Hair Collection Mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=928642073) that I have been wanting to use in addition to the fantastic Roppoi Hair Mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1100547661). But, seeing as these aren't yet supported by DSYH, I am a little disappointed. I wanted to throw this other hair mod out there of possible candidates for future support, because it does seem pretty interesting (Kantai).

Finally, would there be any chance of a possible update on the chances of DSYH getting support for either Kantai or Roppoi hair mods at some point in the maybe not too distant future? If there aren't any plans for it to happen anytime soon, maybe we could pool together some funds as a community to commission someone to complete these? Does anyone know how much something like this would cost? And/or anyone who could do it for a reasonable amount?

I really want to keep DSYH because it makes everything it supports look perfect, because everything is configured by hand and not automated. The downside is that we won't always have immediate support for any new hairstyles added by mods.

Hey, sorry for late reply. Again, thank you for your very kind words. And as always, let's go straight to the issue.
As you noted few posts before, I don't really seek recognition (even though i probably could), I mean, I don't even upload my mods on steam. And there's a good reason why (sadly). I just can't manage everything, and as always, real life is the importantest thing. And even though I really enjoy process of modding itself, I'm just not able to deliver (just look at the previous pages of this thread, especially at the dates). I mean, I even wanted to stop modding completly because of that, but in the end decided to stay and at least update my mods. It's not very innovative, and I decided I'll keep my things up-to-date in hope of better times.
(I know this is very loosely connected to the topic, but i really needed to clarify this).

Answering the real question - no, I won't have time for that. But there are loads of talented people all around (Diana Winters, Spoonshortage, Shinzy, Mrofa, A Friend, and many, many more). Maybe one of the would agree to do this. Asking authors of hair mods to add compability also could work, but I highly doubt that they'd do it (I do realize how bad it sounds :P ).
As for involving money... Yeah, money talks, but I think that aside from donations involving money around mods is just a bad idea. But hey, that's just my take on it.

Hello everyone.
This post will be a bit different from all the others. So if you're not specially interested in those mods or in the future plans, you may stop reading it right here.

I'll start with explaining why i was away for such a long time (over 3 months) and then say a word about future plans.
I've just successfully ended 2nd year (4th semester) of university - and for some reason, this semester finals were absolutely awful. I'm really glad i took that break - without it, well, I'd not pass this semester and lose a year of my life. Still it costed me over a month of sleepless nights and a tanker of energy drinks.
If that wasn't enough, my grandma (that i lived with for over 8 years) recently passed away. Needless to say, It was a really big hit for me. So yeah.

I really don't want anyone to think that I'm trying to get some pity or sympathy or whatever. I recently found out that 1.0 unstable was released, and I just wanted to leave this here for anyone interested in my stuff to let them know that i'm not fooling around.
As for future plans... I don't know when I'll start working on it all again. I hope I'll get myself together soon.
I know that most won't care, but... let your loved ones know that you're with them. Especially if they are running out of time.
~Dark

 Well, my condolences about yer grandmother.

On a totally different subject, Nexus Mods has become even more of a PITA when it comes to downloading stuff from them, requiring one to have an account just to download. If there is any chance of each mod getting a download link from github, that would be amazingly grand.

Just a heads up: was getting some null reference exceptions when loading a saved game. It was occurring in the DontShaveYourHead.Harmony_PawnGraphicSet_ResolveApparelGraphics.Postfix method during the pawn spawning for either Misc Robots (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=724602224) or Misc Robots++ (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=747645520). (Sorry - didn't identify which before digging in) In any case, I was able to resolve the exceptions by patching the below null check in right before the texture resolution process that starts with a reference to `pawn.story.hairDef.texPath`.

if(pawn.story == null || pawn.story.hairDef == null || pawn.story.hairDef.texPath == null)
{
return;
}

Don't know the RimWorld API enough to know which of those checks are unnecessary, but figured it was worth mentioning.

Hello everyone. I know it's been quite a while since I did anything, but hey - when shit hits the fan, you need to take the break, no? ;)

To the buisness; 4 mods updated:

As for the rest of the mods - I'll update them in the upcoming days.
As for WIP mods, Black Gold is a re-write of Black Fuel (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=26492.0) mod that friend of mine once wrote, and Ye Olde floors, well, it's self explanatory, i think ;)

Almost forgot to mention - yes, I'll be putting my mods on steam (after they all are updated, for now i'm just putting nice buttons in there)

One mod updated:
American Civil War Weapons (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=30920.msg316247#msg316247) to B19:
Ye Olde Floors (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=30920.msg316249#msg316249) mod uploaded, not a big thing, but I personally missed old floors, so yeah. There it is.

As of today, Ushanka! (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=30920.msg316243#msg316243), Verge of Galaxy (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=30920.msg316246#msg316246), Stuffed Vents (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=30920.msg316245#msg316245), Ye Olde Floors (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=30920.msg316249#msg316249) and American Civil War Weapons (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=30920.msg316247#msg316247) are available on Steam.

Stuffed Floors just updated, in case you want to take advantage of it with Ye Olde Floors.

Very good music for Verge of Galaxy, liking it a lot already.

I really hope 'Don't Shave Your Head' is updated sooner rather than later, since it doesn't look like 'Facial Stuff' is going to receive a stable update for B19 any time soon.

It's easy to say such when you don't have to go through a plethora of hair mods released & have textures made to support them with said mod. Patience is key...

Yeah, what I imagine takes the longest is having to consider every single distinctly-named hair definition from all the mods that are known to exist with such defs, visually looking at them, and then cross-referencing it with all of the hat defs from mods which add hats...and making a big-ass table with values that range from All Hair, No Hair, and probably some kind of special nudging settings for partially hiding hair.

The alternative is to use the other hair hiding mod which lets you perform these manually.

There are mods that let you toggle your hair when wearing headgear on an individual basis, but if a piece of headgear warrants hiding your hair, it'll make beards disappear, which sucks.

 Can we please get the various download links to include something other than Steam or Nexus please? I have... Issues with both. I know that some have links to github currently, but not all of them.
Steam I refuse to use when possible due to shenanagans years ago by them, and I just plain dont like Nexus requiring an account to download anything
That said, as I dont think Ive said this before, but lovely mods.
