Wonderful mod, especially grouping them all together in their own section! Any chance you'd consider adding special shaped plans: orbital beacon, Sun lamp, wind turbine, geotherm, etc. Think that'd really fit in well with this mod overall.

The dimmed and more transparent colors combined with the possibility of toggling the visibility of the plans in your version makes it even more desirable that the previous attempt in tackling this constraint! *takesbreath*.
Very nice job!

Been using this for a while now and it's grrrreeeeat! The color set is topologically sufficient to cover any and all creations, and I've been using it to lay out furniture, production benches and their seating.

Thanks for a great mod

I'm not sure yet. I'm developing a copy/paste/drag tool right now, next shapes, maybe more colors next. But I think it will be so many colors/buttons. Some people want to choose the colors by their own (aside from those in the mod) and I think it will be fun to develop but not as useful.

There is a color selection mod for stockpiles .. maybe you can use some of it's code.

In the long run it makes more sense to let the user choose the color, than to set a dozen fixed colors ..
a plan drawing selection with different presets and brushes, selectable colors would be epic.

So i checked on your steam workshop and saw that a17 ver is up! which was nice until i downloaded and tried it out and got a lot of red string of errors

Could not find a type named MorePlanning.Designator_Opacity
Could not find a type named MorePlanning.Designator_PlanCut
etc.

basically it can't find the icon textures.

Hi rhaks, thx for the update.

Hey if you ever do implement my suggestion I have a couple more tweaks to that.

1. When selecting a shape to plan, let the right click menu have the color selection. That way no need for a button for every color for each shape. Definitely leave the way the regular planning is setup as you have it now though. Convenient for regular planning, mixed with not adding too many more buttons. Just one per shape added that way.

2. Big stretch on this one... Look at how Zhentar adds the sun lamp planning tool in his "Vanilla Tweaks" mod (there is an updated for A17 version in a thread post). There is actually a built in tool for seeing soil fertility for each tile in the plan and an overall average for the entire planned area. I'd hate to lose that feature as it is pretty darn cool and useful. Wonder if he'd consider letting you add that code straight to your mod?? Or perhaps you could re create that yourself. Not a coder so I don't know how hard/tricky that was in the first place.

mod thread: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=27267.0

Recently DoctorVanGogh released an updated version near end of thread, and earlier (mid June) Fregrant posted the first A17 version a page or two back in the thread. I'm not sure Zhentar is still around, which is sad, really contributed around here. :(

This looks fantastic. Another example of how the best mods are usually the simple ones. I'm a new player to this game (not the genre) and I've actively avoided using the planning tool because it just helps you remember where you were planning to put walls... not what was going into those walls.

I will actually sit down and plan out my next base thanks to this.

Hi Rhaks,

Windows defender just recently claimed part of your dll was a trojan. Likely a false positive I know, but figured I'd let you know just in case something weird happened and it really is. This is from v2.2.0 I believe I downloaded from github. Here is a pic of my warning screen:

@BlackSmokeDM

I don't know about this trojan alert. I used Windows Defender here and nothing showed up.

It is very cool this soil fertility feature, I'll look in to it.

The master don't contain all nessesary files in this case.

Oh wow. I extracted the master zip and had been using it for months with no noticeable gameplay issues that I could recall. Just assumed it was one of those minor popups that authors say are harmless and can be ignored. It is only after installing the latest version of dubs bad hygiene(2.2.4) that this pops up when I click on the Visibility from More Planning. Additionally all the actual plans dont show up in the architect menu.

https://ibb.co/b6YPJo

This never happened before with the bad hygiene 2.0.1 version at least, not sure whats the problem exactly but dubs update is the only change Ive made when I started seeing this. Have been using both mods for months beforehand.

So the question, what isn't working ?
I download the latest release and unzip into mods folder, activate it inside Rimworld.
And i got the Planning menu (see picture) and you can use the coloured planning things.

The "source/moreplanning/library?" is at the sourcecode of the mod, but you don't need that when you just want use the mod.

When the Planning menu don't appear, there is maybe a mod-conflict. It would be helpful when you post an error log then (Share logs button)

Make sure that your folder structure is mods/moreplanning and not mods/moreplanning/moreplanning when you extract the file. It won't work if it's the latter.

From testing it'll shut down all mods and cause errors.  Rule of thumb, if the mod has assemblies it will NOT work between builds.  If a MOD doesn't have assemblies it WILL work between builds.

Uncheck the "Development mode" checkbox from the options menu, after starting Rimworld. You may leave it on also, but then uncheck the one for "Auto-reset mods config on crash". If that doesn't solve the issue, just change the version in the "about.xml" of the mod and make sure it gets loaded. If it still crashes, maybe there's another mod at fault, or you need to tweak the load order (just experiment - the heavy mods should either be at the beginning or at the end - see what works for you).

Great mod!

Feature suggestion time... I don't know if this is possible or if its already in the game.

Suggestion 1:Default Planner only allows you around 50ish tiles per drag. Like 50-53 it will stop printing. And I have to lay another 50 down. If we could get support for far more that could be neat.

Suggestion 2:Perhaps an even better feature would be that after you place your marker down. The center square turns another color or has an outline or an X. So you draw 5 squares in a row... the 3rd one is marked. If your drawing is an even number like 10. You could have 5 and 6 marked or simply mark none. This will be a way for the player to know very quickly if they made a mistake or not.

Thank you, this help a lot.

Feature suggestion :
Flip (Mirroring) Horizontal/Vertical Planning

I often make a mirroring room/storage, so their door is in front of another.
Having a planner to easily flip the layout will help this a lot.

This mod is very useful for me, but it has some problems with its method of adding designators: incompatibilities with RIMMSqol (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=46905) and Allow Tool (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=17218) (maybe with some others, too), probably similar to those recently solved in Path Avoid (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=33027). I hope this info will help you to improve your mod, too: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=46905.msg470152#msg470152 (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=46905.msg470152#msg470152).

You really need to add plans saving and importing to a new game, and designators as guys described.

It can happen when used with mods affecting designators (namely RIMMSqol and Allow Tool, as I mentioned earlier, maybe some others); sometimes not by just having those mods active but depending on their settings or just after entering their settings page. In the latter case it can help to remove More Planning after changes made, then add it again (if simple restart is not enough).

Oh man I cannot state enough how useful I'm finding More Planning to be, to be able to colour code things so I can more easily see what can go where and essentially be able to futureproof my base during the early stages, oooh, it's so good.
I wish this was implimented into vanilla. I don't see why it can't, the code's right here in this mod.
I was just wondering if the mod's gonna be updated to 1.2 anytime soon.

I...didn't bother reading the discussion. It works fine, you say? Like, I can just try it?

You allways can try out mods even when they arn't for that version ! :-)
But you should keep the safe as backup (Bad idea on permadeath anyway ! ).
And a look at the the last page of the mod discussion shouldn't be too much trouble for you.
