I found that you can go into the "About" directory of the github link and check the Preview.png

I have to admin that I almost died at the raccoon preview...the best  8)

- - by the way there is the RTail error that you mention in Steam and suring the random shuffle of new raccoons the games goes in loop randomly (probably when it has to check for the tail? I don't know). Null reference :)

The error be easy fixed modifying the recipedef, that mention rtail instead of tail. After this fix, it works but still NullRefExp randomly while randomizing pawns.

Hey, I have a problem with the Zabrak mod
Almost every single Zabrak colonist (NPC´s AND my colonists) doesn´t have a name; or well, they do but ALL of them are called "Could Not Resolve Any Root: Name". Can you fix this? (or can I fix this if you guide me through it?)

I somehow had an error in the name generator.
I didn't notice because the name rules from my other races were being used for the mislabeled parts.

I pushed a fix - going to update steam etc

The randmization error in the alien races comes from the backstory selection process trying to select a bodytype, and then find a backstory for that bodytype that doesn't exist (I didn't give them any explicitly 'fat body' backstories, or not 'enough' apparently)

I've been readjusting them to eliminate this problem

Alright so i finally fixed all errors from other mods and got into game but seems like Zabraks are bugged or something because they are just pink squares with names. Despite having them very high in my mod list. I had same problems with Star Trek mod but the error was in missing textures (which was also generated in log) but no errors regarding textures or anything.

Oh and also Racc mod throwing XML errors regarding tails.

Zabrak's have hairs assigned to them that don't come with the mod IIRC.

I don't think there a non-steam download.

I don't use it as I use "Facial Stuff" and don't like the idea of double beards (:P) so I disabled the relevant hairstyles.

If you open up Hairs_Zabrak.xml just remove or otherwise disable these entries:

And if the tails error is the RTails one, I believe it's harmless. I could be wrong though.

I'm working on permissions to include the hairs I linked in the race pack to eliminate any more issues.

Also - the RTails deal should be cleaned up - it was a single def that I had copied over for a bionic Tail from one of my other races, and I'd missed changing a single reference in it.

I have a question about these races. Do any of these mods add any guns, items, buildings, etc? Or are they just re-skinned humans? I don't care for mods that add a lot of extra "stuff" as sometimes they seem to make the game unbalanced. I'm just looking to spice it up a bit visually. Thank you!

I can confirm that the Argonian mod only adds in the Argonians as a retextured human pawn but they have special combat abilities and have corresponding bionic body parts, as well as backstories that match. No weapons, buildings or other such things that I can see from my time playing with it. Not too sure about the others though!

The only extra stuff I included in any of my races are little vanity items equal to vanilla stuff, just with a different graphic.
The exception being the Xenn race, who have a pair of guns -  and duster/powerarmor combo item, which are like modified charge rifles (for heat or frostbite damage), and a powerarmor that's more expensive, but has better insulation for heat/cold.

Xen great work on all the mods! I love using all of your races, they not only look great but are very well balanced. But I noticed there doesn't appear to be EPOE patches for the Racc and Vulpine races on the github, but I see them on the steam workshop? Also the Xenn EPOE patch on github is for A16. Has this been updated yet or is it still in the works? Don't mean to be a hassle, I'm just curious  ;D

Love the races and am running a few of them in my current game, many thanks for making them!, however the Fenex and Frijjid set appears to have an issue for me.

When using prepare carefully and adding one or more directly I will occasionally get an error failing to add them, and when added the issue will occur when rolling for a new random, again occasionally. one get I had to click it once, just now I was clicking about 20times.

This doesn't happen with Twi'lek, Racc, Xenn, Argonians. I've reinstalled and redownloaded everything and ran each race on their own with just huggs, prep carefully, alien framework then the above races, only Vulpine race pack appears to do this.

Looks like I just need to add a few more backstories - this is a bug that seems to happen because of the backstory lists getting 'trimmed' or otherwise losing entries for some reason, and it throws an error about trying to select a backstory from an empty list.

This question really starts to piss me off .. mods that are compatible have a description for that in their download post.
Other mods don't need to compatible because their content is not related to Weapons or Armor.

How about using your head, and compare the features of CE with the features of the mod you are looking at ?
Worst case scenario .. back up your save, or don't, and just try it out ..

Most race mod, arn't just the race. Many add extra apparel and weapons too.
Without trying it out, you can't say if the mod add these or not.

Did I not say exactly that ?

The problem is two-fold .. worst of all .. the question has reached the "Are We There Yet ?" - Level for me,
since I encounter it in nearly every interesting mod-thread, while hoping the real discussion moves forward.
Followed by " Can somebody make it compatible " or even " Somebody has to make it compatible " ..

Second I never cared mouch about CE and it's previous incarnations, while I still respect the effort and thought put into the mod, it's just not my kind of game ..

Finally :) I don't feel sorry for telling some kid to shut up and use it's own brain for once.

hahahaha - yeah the CE question gets asked on almost every mod - it does get to be kinda like that "Are we there yet?" nagging. lol

Most races need patching to work with the CE stuff - since it changes the pawns base verbs into their own versions. There's a guide on their wiki about how to do it - I imagine you could even copy and alter their patch that edits normal humanoids. (if they did it that way)

...do you know he's a kid, or is that an assumption on your part? Do you know this person? I get the "are we there yet" bit with the CE question. I've lurked a lot the past couple months, and yeah, for sure. But the threads move forward regardless and the CE element seems to be a big deal for people and it can probably be a valid question, what, 30% of the time? I don't really know, haven't used the mod, I just definitely see the question everywhere too. :)

So if someone can respond helpfully either way, it's done, the thread continues to move forward, no one is singled out or targeted, and the thread isn't derailed at all.

Or, you can do what you did. Which to be honest, looks like a jerk jumping on someone who asked a question he didn't like, and who probably should have started his own rant thread in a general lounge area or something if he cared enough to apologize before beginning his rant/attack on said "kid."

But I'm the new guy, so WTF do I know. Feel free to attack my post count, because of course what possible value could I be adding compared to someone with over 2k. And maybe that's your kid or you know him and this wasn't based on internet ego. Who the f knows, I don't.

I am sorry Apposl, because I can understand how my post sounded offensive and childish to you and I should have written my rant somewhere else.

Because I know nothing about the original poster, who inspired my rant, I just assumed by the behavior.
Most of all I am sorry for giving you a bad impression of the Ludeon Forum, this is not the normal way people speak to each other here, in fact it is one of the most civil and newbie friendly forums I know of.

And if you have questions about mods, just ask me, I am pretty sure I know the answer .. with two exceptions :
Is it CE compatible, and will it be upgradet to the current Alpha  ::)

to the best of my knowledge CE makes changes to body parts which makes most race mods requiring a compatibility patch, look at Orassans for example.

so i think i may have isolated the 2 minor, and so far-luckily non-gamebreaking problems i have encountered so far... and it seems the zabrak race mod is the culprit...

Hello! I love your race mods and they are super cool. But I have an issue with the some of them. The Vulpine, Asari, and the Xenn races seem to have some appearance problems.

They all look like regular human pawns with bald heads and different skin tones. If there is any suggestion to fix this please tell me.

At first you should try to delete the old race mod folders, and copy/unzip them again.

I've tried deleting and copying them back in but still not working. I'm not using CE as well so I don't know whats going on. Any other suggestions.

There might be some conflicts with Psychology and zombie mods...
I've had issues with textures not loading when alien race pawns start rotting for example.
Next version of alien race framework should fix some of these issues, keep on eye on it.

MRBOSSJEFF: Sounds like you either need the alien framework loaded first, or Erdelf might have a partly-completed update still on the main branch of his git (if that's where you got the framework)

There's going to be a big update to the framework in a couple days - and I'll be updating most of my races to match the new setup - so you might need to get them again after that

You didn't mention that your races need the framework at the 1. posting, ofcourse i know all alien races need them but you know 1. time user.

So xen, should i start backing up the race mods i have and alien frameworks mods i have to a seperate folder in case my saves no longer works with the incomping  alienwoks update??

Ive read on the description of alienwoks on the workshop page that old saves no longer work on the current version...

Im just wondering as well that once alienworks gets updated to the new version, does other race mods likely have to be updated as well or the changes shouldnt have to force an update to those race mods??

Ferrex are fine,
Jaffa I think need updating to work properly, since they haven't been updated since before the alien framework 2.0 change (this next version is more like 2.5 or 3.0)

Ok thnx xen for d info.. ive backed up anyy race mods im playing and alienworks as well.. well only d asari mod is non steam for me since ive downloaded it directly from your github, and it is a17 version compared to steam..


With jaffa likely getting updated, this means an a17 version  :D

EdB Prepare Carefully should do the job.
You can equip the pawn with the stuff you want, and add the proper wepon to the list, and remove the advance weapons.

Edit: Do the EPOE patches need to be updated? Looking at some of the dates, they don't seem to be updated to B18

I want to say some of them might not need a separate patch anymore. The mod makers now have the ability to include patches on their mods that will only activate if they detect a specific other mod is loaded.

Not every mod author has done this, but I believe the ability is there for it. You can open up the mod's main directory, and look to see if it has a patches folder, and then see what's in there.

Chances are, there could already be an EPOE patch, maybe RBSE patch, CE, etc.

Something that is at least worth a check, and can help you understand a little bit more how mods and patches work :)

For the logann, I noticed in barkys review he mentioned a lot of weapons are added, but im pushing 200 mods and would like to minimize the bleed. Any chance for a lite version?
