Title: [B18] 20th Century Weapons Mod CE Patch

This is the standalone version of the 20th Century Weapons Mod Combat Extended Compatibility Patch. You do not need to have the normal version of 20th CWM for this to work. All credit goes to xo-xo-xo for making the original mod. Use this however the hell you want. I might make more patches in the future, if theres a high demand for them.

UPDATE B18: Updated to B18, rebalanced melee weapons, added melee to most kf the guns. This release may or may not have a couple of bugs so let me know if anything seems wrong.

Hello,
It seems that i have run into an issue loading your mod:
this is the error i get when loading into the game: https://gist.github.com/HugsLibRecordKeeper/8d0fac00a2fedc324ce619ce340a4aae
i also get further errors when i spawn/make a pawn take any gun that uses a caliber that is not from normal CE (this includes the 2 statics)
(also making my modlist only include CE + this mod gives the same errors, and any gun that uses a caliber from CE works just fine. But i only tried a couple of those guns)

Do you have the newest version of combat extended? Because all the ammo types I'm seeing in your error log were added to the main CE mod in the 1.1 update.

I updated it but still managed to load the old version into my modlist.

Making CE patches doesn't need C#, just like plugging in for xml.  The author listed a nice how-to on exactly how to properly patch weapons.

Updated to v2: Rebalances, crafting times shorter, accuracy balanced, auto shotguns now actually automatic, etc

Updated to v3: Made it compatible with current version of CE, enemies now actually spawn with the weapons, all weapons are craftable, balances, etc

Hey,
thank you for made this mod :) Good job!
I have a suggestion... it's possible to lower the range of your weapons to fit more to the CE weapons.

Example: The Vanilla CE Sniper have a range of 75. The Remington 700 have 105 and use the identical ammo.
The same with the CE Assault Rifle = 55, and example M4A1 = 68 or AKM = 70.
Alternative: Increase the range and load your mod after CE.

UPDATE v4: Fixed crafting recipes, fixed ranges, made it require CE research, should be last random hotfix for awhile. hopefully  ;)

can you remove the ak47 and the rpg7 since CE guns already has it so can you please make a version where there is no ak47 and rpg7 (from 20th Century Weapons Mod)

My mod does not have an ak47. It has an akm and akms, which are modernized variants of the ak47 which is slightly more accurate and less recoil. My rpg7 has the exact same stats, and not all people have ce guns, so if you want them removed then do it yourself on your own copy.

From the first post it was not clear to me whether I'm supposed to dowload this or the corresponding patch, to add these weapons to the CE mod.
To clarify, I have CE (together with several other mods) installed, I want to add the weapons from "20CWM", what do? Download from post #1 or find appropriate thread?
The reason for my confusion comes from these sentences:

Download this mod alone, and place it under combat extended. You do not need the orignal 20th cwm or any other mods to make this work besides CE.

UPDATE v8: Balances with new version of CE, sightsefficiency and warm-up times are balanced. Added MAC-10 and OSV-96. If you guys would like a Kevlar vest included that has relatively low weight and bulk with 0.45 sharp protection let me know.

First, make sure you have the newest version. Second, some of the weapons don't require "advanced weapons research" as they aren't advanced, such as the mosin nagant. If you could identify the weapons that don't require research that you think require it, you can list them for me and I can change it if necessary.

Huh, before I had this installed there was another tree that went though each set of weapons from pistols up to the heavy weapons.

Pretty sure that's normal 20th CWM, and not this standalone patch. I removed those research because it was repetitive and arbitrary, and made it to use the standard CE advanced weapons research.

Combat Extended has a A18 test version on github, it seems to work fine only thing is the combat story thingy doesn't seem to work that well atm.
This mod really enhances CE so hopefully it will get updated too.

I'll start working on it soon. It should be updated by Saturday.

EDIT: I'll start working on it as soon as CE guns or another gun mod is updated to the new CE version, because patches don't make sense to me.

Is there a link to the Steam version, or do you have screenshots or anything else to provide info wise? I'm looking for a weapons mod, but I don't want too many and with anything too crazy, so this looks like it's right up my alley, but I would like more info on it first please :)

Most of the information on this would be on the original 20th Century Weapons mod main thread, as this is just making the weapons compatible with CE. I guess Ishould add some screenshots since the original hasn't been updated in a while. Basically the preview has the art style of tge weapons, and theres somewhere around 80-90 added guns so it may be too much for you.

Is it a bug or is it intended for some weapons to be uncraftable regardless of your tech advancement? Namely MP40, Mossberg 500A (and a few more I couldn't remember), I still couldn't craft them even after I finished all of the weapon related research (Though I think this is more of an issue on the original mod instead of this patch)

Otherwise huge thanks for this CE patch, been enjoying it so much so far.

Hey thanks alot, I dont know much about Rimworld modding in general but I took a shot, just changed the ParentName to make it craftable.

I still don't understand why some of the weapons are uncraftable though, considering they already have a recipe available (Though could be balancing issue, not sure). Anyway thanks again.

No problem! I can sometimes help with the xml stuff  ;D

My only guess as to why some of them are uncraftable, is that the mod author thought they should be obtainable via trade only. That still doesn't make sense though if they have a research ??? Maybe this was an oversight.

I would also *highly* recommend getting Notepad++ if you don't have it already. I have only recently discovered this, but with the search ability to "find in files" it has made updating and editing mods a lot easier!

My bad for not seeing this until a couple weeks later lol. My guess is it was a couple parentname errors that the original mod author left and I looked over them. They should be fixed by the next update, whenever that is.

Can you correct the ammo of Mauser Ammo? The HP version have better penetration and more damage than FMJ.

My bad, I didn't think anyone was interested in this after the main mod went kaput. If you want me to I can probably update this to 1.0, but I was planning on just using the sounds of this and making a unofficial version using Rambo's sprites since those are cleaner and more vanilla like.

Agreed. These guns in CE are totally need for me to play the game. I love this mod it adds so much. Please update it for CE 1.0!
