Title: Caravan Animals do not eat Hay?
Post by: Jeimss on July 24, 2017, 03:59:53 PM
I have Muffalos and Alpacas on my caravan and they don't seems to eat the Hay that I have with me on the Caravan. I'm on tile that is not grazable for now (winter).

They eat kibble and or pemmican but not the hay.

Is it normal?

I think it's set up so they eat the food closest to rotting first, and since hay takes roughly forever to rot, that would be lowest on their priority list.

Yeah I know, but when there is only hay and nothing else, it doesn't get eaten anyway.

IIRC during a caravan trip if animals can graze (the game tells you when you inspect the world map) they won't eat what you are carrying

I noticed that only true herbivores graze when in a caravan.
Omnivores like pigs or bears happily munch through your meals instead of grazing.
