Hi, everyone.
I've started work on a mod for RimWorld and part of the mod involves a crafting table. The problem I'm encountering is with the dimensions. If I make a standard crafting table, 1x3, it works fine, just as I intend. However I would like the table to be 5x5, but I have found that when I attempt to make the first dimension greater than 2, the colonists refuse to interact with the table. I have successfully made the table up to 2x10 without trouble, but if I make it 3x10 they stop interacting with it. I have adjusted the interaction square to an accessible location.
Is this a bug, working as intended, or am I overlooking something? Thank you.
I think someone else said that they had this issue before as well quite a long time ago. I don't think there ever was a fix, but I may be incorrect.
Sounds like this bug: http://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=3332.0
did u set the interaction radius right?
im talking about this bit of code:
<hasInteractionSquare>true</hasInteractionSquare>
<interactionSquareOffset>(0,0,2)</interactionSquareOffset>
im pretty new to all this and i did the same mistake when i was testing something similar.
well i have asked tynan about it a long time ago and he said there is no way to do it in the current build,
it has to touch the inner squire.(i have tried it to for a very long time) :/

Negative.
Hey guys, thanks for all the responses. I guess I'll just consider it a bug and try to work around it for the time being, hopefully the next update will fix it. Thank's for clearing things up.
Wait a second... i know a fix... use multiple benches ;)
wait! is there a way to create multiple parts of a "craftingtable" and make it so that it only works if several parts touch each other? i mean without creating a dll.
indsutrial rim does something similar but im not sure if it works that way and not sure if it is created only with xml editing.

multiple parts Yes, But if u want them to HAVE TO connect u need .dll...
im looking to do this for my mod too
And what part of industrialRim does something like that???
EDIT
if u want to u can get really weird thing to happen if u do it wrong wink wink (NOT A BUG)
the "hydrosomething" hydroplant? ucan get more power out of the plant with addons i believe.
I've just come on here to ask this very same question! I was creating a very simple mode to add a workbench to dispose of the huge piles of corpses (I uploaded my mod here: http://www.nexusmods.com/rimworld/mods/32/? ) and couldn't understand why I couldn't get any interaction with a 3x3 building and radius 0,0,3
At least I know it's an issue with the current build, thanks for the help for those above as you've assisted me as well :)
3x2 also works because the interaction square can be adjacent to the bottom center square of the table, which is the table's "true center".
Is the problem then that the interaction square cannot be next to the "true center" when the table is wider and longer than 2?
Does this mean that there could be an object, like, 11x2 and it'd still works? As long as the interaction square be adjacent to the 'true center'?

Probably. Never tested so I can't say for sure.
And Microwave: Yes, I think.
