Title: [Closed] Call for volunteer creative rewards moderators
Post by: Tynan on October 24, 2013, 12:52:02 AM
The call is closed, thank you to those who responded!

Are you a clear, concise writer? Are you interested in the RimWorld fiction? Are you willing to help moderate creative rewards?

If you answered yes to all three questions, please post in this thread! Also, please accompany your post with at least a page of fiction writing you've done. It can be any fiction - I just want to see how you assemble sentences. If you don't want to post it here go ahead and email me at [email protected]

It would also be good if you answered:
1. What is your writing experience?
2. Why do you want to help out?
3. How much are you available to help out?

Thank you in advance to all who respond!

I apologize if this is a bit off-topic :-[

If you are searching for creative writers, this could be just the right point for starting to translate?!
Asking some of my friends, it could be very helpful to release RimWorld also in other languages.
I can offer you to help out with the german translation.

1. jobwise I translate english terms and texts to depict difficult coherences and processes for the german authorities. In my free time I'm a hobby writer. I wrote a lot of roleplay-adventures for local RP-forums and groups.
2. I want to help out because I love your game concept. And I want you keeping the good work. I believe that when your stay on expanding and refining your game with your current commitment - your game will be really awsome. And of course I also want to enjoy your game in my native language.
3. I can spend a couple of hours every week for translating.

Translation is a separate issue. And in any case, I'm likely to just leave that to the community. I'll make a localization file of all the text in the game and people can translate it to any language they wish.

I would like to help if you'll have me.

Are you a clear, concise writer?
I try as much as possible.

Are you interested in the RimWorld fiction?
After reading the longsleep briefing, absolutely.

Are you willing to help moderate creative rewards?
Yes, I would like help as much as possible.

1. What is your writing experience?
Professionally...None what so ever. I write small things from time to time but nothing serious.
This link to Forsaken Fortress's forum is a good example of what I write for fun.
See the 5 posts from "kelfka" same user name I'm using here.
http://forsakenfortress.boards.net/thread/14/characters-story?page=2

2. Why do you want to help out?
I believe in this project and I would like to contribute in whatever way that I can.

3. How much are you available to help out?
Evenings and weekends. I live close to Ottawa if you need on site help.

I'd like to point out that my grammar, spelling and punctuation on internet forums is far removed from how I actually write lol, so please don't hold previous sloppiness against me.

Are you a clear, concise writer?
I believe so, yes.

Are you interested in the RimWorld fiction?
VERY much so. The brief taste of it I've gleaned so far has been intriguing, if broad and overly generic in scope; though I recognise this is largely to allow room for further enhancement and addition to the Canon.

Are you willing to help moderate creative rewards?
Of course. Whenever and wherever I'm needed.

1. What is your writing experience?
No professional writing -that is, being paid to write- and in terms of casual writing: more than most as it's a major hobby of mine. I've always been a fan of picking apart literature to analyse in great depth and can, more often than not, spot the common mistakes.

2. Why do you want to help out?
I'm rather impressed with the project so far, but a glance at the Kickstarter figures for the people due creative rewards would be pretty frightening for Tynan to accomplish on his own. Not to mention it'll be a fascinating side-project to see what everyone comes up with.

3. How much are you available to help out?
Pretty much anytime, but as that's likely not very helpful to you... I'd say mostly GMT >4:00pm every day of the week.

I'm not certain if this would be appropriate demonstration of the skills you're looking for, but it's one of the few earlier pieces of creative writing that I don't mind sharing...

She was sitting on my left. Her white blouse pulled across the small of her back, almost becoming see-through showing the caramel-coloured skin underneath. Her strands of golden hair melting over her shoulders, shining in the midsummer sunlight pouring through the nearby window.

The tip of her rounded ear peeks out at me from above the shining gold like a timid mouse checking for carnivorous cats. Her lithe arms quivered and she pressed pen to paper as her hand danced a thousand words. Her shoulders hunched forward leaving a delicate dip in her back between her shoulder blades, she swayed from side to side ever so slightly as her iPod speaker pulsed in her ear like the beating of a tiny mechanical heart spreading music in her soul.

Her eyelashes flickered back and forth as her deep brown eyes swept across the thin sheet of lined paper filled with tiny inken scratches and with each flick of her swift wrist, her soft pink lips would trace her thoughts as she whispered silently under her breath what she was scrawling on the page.

She sighs heavily and wipes the beads of sweat off her forehead, dying in the heat of the day and shivering as a cool breeze swept through the room from the small stainless steel vent at the front of the room igniting her skin and no doubt sending frissons along her sloping spine as those familiar goosebumps washed over her skin.

She pulled back to survey her work, the bangs that usually framed her face had fallen from their delicate emplacement behind her ears in the fray and she sat there studying her riddle with such intent that she failed to notice their placement as they curiously both marred and enhanced her angelic visage with their rebellion, before her eyes sparked with new life and tucking the errant strands safely behind her ear she ravaged the page once more.

Her pearly front teeth dig sharply into the soft flesh of her lower lip as she mulls over her decision to set down her smoking pen and examines the page with a brief smile tugging on the corners of her lips, she had finished.

I am more of a reader that a writer, which I think you may need to moderate. I am not the best writer but I am willing to help moderate and read what others have written and review if their work is in the RimWorld fiction.

1. What is your writing experience?

Writing wise, I've only ever ran gaming teams, competitions etc online in the public domain online. I do however have to write up big project documentation, plans, system-wide changes and more in my current role at work. This involves quite a lot of my time so although I've not done anything community-wise, I feel I'd really step up to the plate and enjoy the role here.

2. Why do you want to help out?

The two main reasons that spring to mind for me personally;

1. The Game
2. The Community

These two core factors are what got me interested in the first place, and are exactly why I backed the project. It was so refreshing to see a really original game being made and even more so to see that the community come across really close-knit and willing to help each-other out.

I also spend a lot of my time at home online, and have been running teams, events, leagues etc for the last 12 years. I have a major interest in anything Sci-Fi movie wise or game wise, especially with games that let you be extra creative and "make your own path".

3. How much are you available to help out?

Availability wise I am practically online every single day after work, especially during the week. Every other weekend I'm usually online all day/evening. I'm based in the UK time zone as I live in Jersey, CI so this may also prove helpful if you've not got many people in this jurisdiction.

A bit extra about me;

My names Jonathan, I'm 26 years old and started using PC's after earning my first one peeling potatoes at the age of 14. Ever since then, I knew that I'd like to play some sort of role in the I.T field, whether it be actually running some sort of community (or helping in one), gaming teams, services etc. I now run my own successful I.T company locally, as well as work for a 3rd level Web-Platform support team as my "normal" career.

Feel free to ask me any more questions, I'm always on IRC (thanks for your quick chat earlier, Tynan) and this will be a very exciting thing to be part of for me and a great opportunity to get a bit more involved in something instead of simply enjoying the content!

I have sent a piece of writing to you via email.

Quote1. What is your writing experience?
Largely personal, between roleplaying several years back; story drafts; a diary and a Weblog. My professional writing includes, voluntarily over a period of nine years, tier-one customer support; peer-to-peer support and support guides.

Quote2. Why do you want to help out?
For the fame and fortune. And I like to feel useful. Making a contribution to a project makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

Quote3. How much are you available to help out?
As much as is required of me. Through a mixture of both losing and leaving, I no longer have employment. My days are free for the majority of hours.
Title: Re: Call for volunteer creative rewards moderators
Post by: Kaminczak on October 26, 2013, 03:18:26 AM
I'd emailed and am offering my skills/time if desired.

What is your writing experience?
I have spent most of my career in teaching writing and in editing. While working on my MA in English (focus on composition and rhetoric) at Sam Houston State University (http://www.shsu.edu) I worked as managing intern editor for Texas Review Press (http://www.shsu.edu/~www_trp/about.html) and as a peer consultant (writing tutor) for the SHSU Writing Center. On graduating in 2004, I taught freshman composition (1&2) and elective literature courses and was offered the position of assistant director of the writing center. In 2007, I accepted a position as assistant director of the Texas A&M University Writing Center. I left this position last year, as my family moved to Houston to be closer to Texas Children's for a family medical issue. I commuted a while, but ultimately resigned my position to concentrate on family. I'm currently substitute teaching for my local school district while seeking full-time employment in the Houston area. I've acted as consultant to high schools and universities developing writing centers, and have presented at multiple academic conferences on aspects of writing and the teaching of writing.

Why do you want to help out?
Frankly, I enjoy working with text. I see a lot of potential with Rimworld and would love to know that I contributed in some way to its ultimate success. Working as a peer consultant--and later training peer educators, I believe that I would bring a unique set of skills to the text and documentation of the project.

How much are you available to help out?
Time is the one asset that I currently find myself with abundance of. Son's in remission, and besides subbing and the job search, I've no pressing commitments. I've never been much of a sleeper, so my day-to-night stretch most assuredly exceeds the norm.

Hey Tynan. Sorry for the late reply. I (Benjamin Isar Jorgensen from Kickstarter) would still very much like to volunteer as a creative reward moderator. I'll e-mail you a page from one of my most recent CoC scenarios.

1. What is your writing experience?
I've been writing RPG scenarios for +10 years, and have also dabbled with game modding in the late 90's - which was basicly adding extra storylines to the games I liked and had access to. A few of my scenarios has ended up in Danish RPG awards, and one of them fetched a prize for Scenario of the Year at the largest Danish convention.
Most of my writing have been in Danish or Norwegian, but I have recently taken up writing in English (to reach a broader audience). While English is not my native language, I like to think of myself as fluent, as I've spoken the language since I was 8 and own far more English books than in any other languages combined.
I feel I should also mention my reading experience - I've been a science fiction fan for as long as I can remember, and I always form strong opinions on whether storylines, technologies and plot elements are realistic and within the bounds of the fictional universe.

2. Why do you want to help out?
For the fun of it. Since my long gone modding days, I've always wanted to make my own game from the bottom. That dream is long gone as I went into biology and literature rather than programming. But helping out with RimWorld would bring me a lot of satisfaction, and I am sure I can become a valuable resource when it comes to fitting all the user-submitted content into a larger, more cohesive universe.

3. How much are you available to help out?
Evenings during weekdays and most hours in the weekends - when I'm not dangerously close to an exam, of course.

Proof of literacy should be in your inbox :)

Best regards
Benjamin

Hello Tynan! I've been a writer on several (currently closed) blogs for a few years now, and I think being a moderator for this forum will be a great option.

I've been one to moderate small communities, and donate all my free time to helping them out. I want to support this budding community,  and work hard to make this the best it can. I can offer all my time other than when I'm in classes. Please think about accepting me as moderator, and thanks for your time!

Any fiction is fine. Sci fi in a simple tone and style (not flowery verbage) is ideal.

Heres a little sample

The man sat before the council. His brethren who he had followed and worshipped for years past had betrayed him. Suddenly, he had realized his fate. His feet lay in the uncomfortable shoes he is forced to wear. For an image, he tells himself, he has to treat himself and his body right. But the voice speaks differently. The voice only tells him what to do. No consequences.  His name was Gerald. The year was 2097. And unlike the rest of the world had previously thought, the world had not changed. Aliens had not taken over. The only thing that had changed was that they found us. The found the Geralds in the world. The you, the I, and the rest of us. And here we are, sitting, cold steel-toed boots on the ground, waiting for the verdict. If only we had lived like you, poor reader, but then I would never know how this ended. How the cold, cruel, sick world responded to the worst of the worst. Gerald was 20, old enough to drink, old enough to drive, but not old enough to escape the verdict of society. Gerald was a tall man, about 5'6, medium build. He had spent his life in denial. Since he was 10 years old, he felt some sort of emptiness within himself. He felt loneliness of some sort, but had no way to express it. At 14, he started an internship at B.R. Educational Society for Astronomical Studies. He spent 2 years learning everything there was to know about it. He knew the ups and the downs, but never learned how to prevent the inevitable. His demise. The true verdict. Of the 2097 court trial that changed humanity forever.

Are you a clear, concise writer?
I would say that I am. Most of the time.
Are you interested in the RimWorld fiction? Definitely. Btw keep the prison architect artwork. It looks awesome.
Are you willing to help moderate creative rewards? Well I am applying to be a creative rewards moderator...

1. What is your writing experience? At primary school we would always be writing stories or newspaper articles.
2. Why do you want to help out? I love the whole concept of a rim world and I think the creepy cat I hear is too.
3. How much are you available to help out? Most evenings and most weekends.

Short story

The door creaked open and Jacob slid inside. He crept up behind his girlfriend, Sasha and grabbed her shoulders.
"Ahh!" Sasha screamed and turned around, she had long brown hair and emerald green eyes, she was tall, thin and beautiful. She wore white jeans and a white Blanco top. "Don't do that!"
"Ahahahaha!" Jacob laughed wildly.
"Ugh, you are so childish." Sasha smiled and kissed Jacob.         "Did you book the flight?"
"Two business class tickets to Madrid! You know that it has hardly any mosquitos around this time."
"Sweet. So what's the time difference?" Sasha asked.
"GMT+1" Jacob answered. He was also tall and very handsome. His short brown hair was spiked with hair gel and hew was dressed in a pair of dark blue jeans and a Led Zeppelin T-shirt. He wore a pair of mirrored aviators over his deep blue eyes.
Sasha sat down and Jacob sat next to her.
"Bono!" Sasha called. A black and white blue eyed husky sporting a red bandana around it's neck jumped onto the black leather sofa.
"Who's a handsome boy then? You are Bono yes you are!" Jacob said as he hugged Bono. "Of course I'm better looking though," he added with a grin. Bono gave a sound like a mocking chuckle as if to say, 'you looked in the mirror at all?'
Sasha and Jacob burst out laughing.
It looked like a perfect start to the 20th of October.

First post! Woo hoo!

Are you a clear, concise writer?

Yes! Well, I'm biased on the subject.

Are you interested in the Rimworld fiction?

The idea of so many branches of humanity constantly being mixed around intrigues me. Also, Science Fiction is just plain cool, so yes.

Are you willing to help moderate creative rewards?

Sure thing! Someone's got to do it.

1. What is your writing experience?

Currently I'm studying creative writing at the University of Houston. Also, I am an assistant fiction editor for Glass Mountain Magazine (an Undergraduate magazine run by staff and students at my school). I also got a short story published in an online magazine once!... A really small magazine... That no longer exists (._.) But it still makes me proud that I did it.  :)

Why do you want to help out?

This seems like a rather unique way to support something I feel needs supporting.

How much are you available to help out?

I'm open to help a couple hours a week, usually in the evenings, occasionally in the morning. I should probably mention that I live in Houston, Texas.

I'll email my writing sample shortly.

1. What is your writing experience?: I did extensive text based role play for the better part of two years.
2. Why do you want to help out?: I enjoy helping out with the game
3. How much are you available to help out?: All days apart from Thursday.

Example: I did this a while ago, it's not some of my best text but it's the only post I could find from my RP days, I used to use a different alias that I have now forgotten so searching was quite hard.

It was early evening as Nova was walking down the street towards his home, he looked to his left and saw a house, it was not a fancy or overly large house, just an average family home. He looked through the window and saw a family, a father and a mother were looking after their son and daughter, laughing, having fun. Enjoying their lives. Nova shuddered and upped his pace, intending to get home before the snow started to fall heavily.

Nova walked to his house, a small shanty home comprised of decaying wood and cracking bricks, a house that was very much the opposite of a home. Yet home it was, at least for Nova, the boy opened the ruined oak door and opened it with a loud creak, he walked towards the old fireplace in the corner of the room and planted a few sticks on top of it before igniting them. Nova placed his head on his dusty pillow and started to fall asleep, he thought he heard a small shout as he was drifting off, but it was probably nothing and so, he fell into a slumber.

Nova's mother was a member of the oldest profession, a whore, wrench, scum, as some would call it. She became pregnant with Nova after doing her job and she decided to keep the baby, a choice she would later come to regret. The woman soon learned that having a baby is not a simple thing, and being unprepared for the job, she used to leave Nova on his own for hours at a time, coming back to him only after his screaming had stopped to feed him. Nova's childhood mostly consisted of him staying at home while his mother would work the streets, but sometimes he would go for walks in areas where families were, looking in on them and hoping that he could live as most children lived. A foolish thought to have, but he wished it all the same. Soon after Nova turned 11 his mother left, he was not exactly sure why she left, but she was gone. For the first few days he survived on what little food there was in the cubords, but eventually it ran out, forcing him to earn his keep. So he wandered, looking for any job that would have him.

After being rejected from several jobs, he discovered an old cobbler who employed him to make shoes, a kind old man, he took pity on the young Nova and employed him and gave him a place to sleep after hearing about how Nova ended up looking for a job. Nova's teen years were of him making shoes, and later learning how to read, write and count. When the old cobbler died, he entrusted his business to Nova, who was immensely greatfull of what the old man did for him, this was 4 years ago, and ever since then he has been making shoes. It was during this time that he learned about the Demons and Angels, and he decided that he would try and keep out of their conflict if he could help it.

What exactly does this entail? Accepting/rejecting backstory submissions, or editing to make a more consistent universe? My skills may be more geared toward the latter...

1. What is your writing experience?
Nonprofessional, but I've been writing semi-seriously for at least ten years (since ~high school). Most of my work has been short stories, but I have done NaNoWriMo a few times and succeeded twice. I've been trying to sell some of my more recent stories for publication, but at the moment I'm not professionally published. I'll send you a link to a flash fiction piece or two by email.

2. Why do you want to help out?
I like contributing creatively to projects that I enjoy. It's one reason I was enticed to contribute to the kickstarter more than I would have otherwise paid for the game.

3. How much are you available to help out?
It depends on the work (see my question above). I have a day job so mostly I only have nights and weekends open but I'm on IRC pretty much always so if any moderator discussion takes place there I can chime in almost any time.

Zannick, in response to your question, it involves both. We will have to edit submissions sometimes, but ideally this will be kept to a minimum.

Greetings and congratulations for your successful Kickstarter.

I am really interested in RimWorld (both game and background stories) and I would really like to help moderating creative rewards. In addition, I believe I am a clear writer.

Let's answer the three questions!

1. What is your writing experience?

I have published over twenty short stories here in Spain (yeah, I'm Spanish by the way). I have also won several prizes writing fiction and journalism works. I usually write fantasy and science fiction so I am used to this particular genre.

I have a degree in Journalism and a Master in Game Design. I am currently working as a freelance International Media Analyst for several companies and institutions. All this work is done in English. I am also trying to start a video game company in Spain with some colleagues.

2. Why do you want to help out?

Well, I really love this project and as a writer I am always looking for exciting projects to get involved. I am a huge fan of science fiction and videogames. In fact, RimWorld reminds me of FTL, one of my favorite games. I couldn't involve myself in that project (even as a backer), but I think this is a great opportunity to do so with another great game.

3. How much are you available to help out?

I am a freelance worker, so it depends on each week. However, I think I could spend a couple hours a week. I am available in the afternoon mostly (I live in the GMT+1 region).

I think that's all. If you have any question, I will be glad to answer it!

I am sending a page of fiction writing to your e-mail address right now.

I'd like to put my name forward too.

Are you a clear, concise writer?
I like to think so.

Are you interested in the RimWorld fiction?
Very much so. So far I love all things Rimworld

Are you willing to help moderate creative rewards?
I don't think I'd be responding here if I wasn't. ;)

It would also be good if you answered:
1. What is your writing experience?
Nothing professional. Most of my creative writing has come from play-by-post D&D forums online.

2. Why do you want to help out?
So far I love all things Rimworld and am excited about this project.

3. How much are you available to help out?
I have a handicapped child which must be my priority. Also I work a full-time IT job. So the likelihood is my availability will be limited to some evenings and most weekends. Depending on my son's needs, that may vary. As I'm sure I've mentioned to you, I live in Montreal if ever you need to meet in person for a discussion on the subject of Rimworld.

I'm going to try to find some of my old PBP forum posts to give you an example of my on-the-fly creative writing. Once I track those down I'll email you with them or post them here...

1. What is your writing experience?
- I've been online role-playing since late 2008, and I've started writing a novel (that needs heavily revised and updated). I'm currently in the finale of an online writing competition (short stories and the like, pretty much). I'm a college freshman who has experience in basic undergraduate research (not published). I've written an article for my university's Honors Newsletter, and I have won a scholarship for a snippet of writing in the past.
I am a moderator on a RPG site and an admin on another, and on the site I moderate (It's a huge site, so I'm one of many people), we host contests (writing, role-playing, etc), and they're judge based upon character, grammar, plot, entertainment, creativity, etc. On one of these role-play sites, I am also an assistant editor for one of the site's newspapers and a writer on another one for the site.
2. Why do you want to help out?
- I'm always looking for ways to pursue writing. I'm an English major who hopes to go into book editing / publishing and potentially write a novel sooner or later. I also really love to read and help other writers by giving feedback. My skills have thrived and expanded from working with other, more experienced writers, and I would love to help other people feel the same love for writing that I do.
3. How much are you available to help out?
- I'm pretty available at this moment, as I'm on winter break. I always make time for what I commit to, and this spring semester (starting January 13th, I think) should be pretty lenient with assignments as compared to the fall (I was on color guard this past fall, but that won't be an issue for the spring). I'm online for about 35+ hours a week.

I hope you don't mind if I give two samples - I couldn't decide on just one~ They're both more than a page (the first one is about 2500 words and the second is about 2000). I've attached them both to this post. Thank you!

Hi Tynan,

I looked all over the old boards I used to play on, but they seem to have deleted the older content (it's been a few years since I've been on them).

However, I did find this on an online character sheet that was still available. It's the Character Bio for a Gnome Illusionist I made back in the day. I loved RPing this character as he had a lot of personality. Particularly when it came to his fear of fire. :)

So here it is:

Description
Standing at 3'8" tall. Dimble is a gnome with little stature. He makes up for it with his ego however, as he believes his magic makes him mighty and powerful. He is not very strong, but has a strong body. His hair is black, and his eyes are brown. But there is little of note about this diminutive little man.

Personality
Dimble believes himself a powerful mage in the body of a small gnome. He does not think of his small size as a limitation. But he does believe that he will one day be recognized as being great. This is learned from his master, not an inherant trait in his personality. He has a strong sense of right and wrong, and justice.

Background
Dimble grew up in the town of Waterdeep. He lived with his parents who worked long hours and scrapped by on only modest wages. Though his childhood was nothing special, it was a time in his life that he remembers being happy.

His parents both worked in their own Alchemy store, but did not earn enough to live with anything but the barest essentials, at least that's how it appeared to Dimble. He was happy living with his parents, but sometimes resented them for not being able to provide the comforts and toys he had wanted.

Still as a young boy, Dimble found a piece of parchment laying around outside his parents store. Thinking it to be trash he picked it up and went to discard it, but upon looking at it, he saw symbols the likes of which he had never seen. Over the next few months, he spent many hours trying to figure out exactly what it was he had.

One night, it just seemed to click into place, and he was able to read the parchment, but as he finished reading the last word out loud the writting suddely flashed then faded and the parchment crumbled in his hands. At the same time his hands started to glow, fairly brightly. He ran to his parents crying, afraid of what had happened.

His parents recognized the spell at once (Light) and soothed their son. Soon after they arranged for Dimble to meet with a local mage who often came into the shop for potions. This man was named Aldus Spellslinger.

The man walked in with an arrogance around him. He knew who he was and that, no matter what, he was more important than you. His arrogance was also obvious in his voice and speach:

"Is this the boy? He does not look too impressive. I really don't have time for an apprentice right now, but I could always make an exception..." That last he had said while shaking a coin purse.

Only later did Dimble find out that his parents had been putting money aside for him since he'd been born. They lived such modest lives so that he could have a future. They spent this savings on the "fee" for this mage.

It was through years of training with Aldus that Dimble managed to develop his focus and power. It was also by being around such a man that he managed to become egotistical and arrogant in his own right (but not nearly to the same extent).

It was not for much longer though, that he would continue his education with his mentor. The day he died was one he would remember for the rest of his life.

Dimble was in the library doing some studies, when he came upon a new spell, one which he hadn't yet learned. Aldus would be out for a while longer yet, and Dimble wanted to try this new spell. Gathering the required components together, he quickly went to work.

Dimble did not realize the extent of damage a miscast spell could cause. That realization came with a sudden flash of light, and flames shooting all around him. It also happened right as Aldus walked into the room. Dimble's world turned red, then black.

Dimble slowly awoke to the sounds of a voice, but not that of his mentor's. The voice coaxed him out of his sleep and back into the real world. Looking up, Dimble realized he looked into the eyes of a priest. One devoted to Lathander by the looks of his garments. This man had just saved his life.

Upon proper introductions, Dimble thanked the man, who he learned was named Radleigh, and Dimble then quickly vowed that so long as he lived, and Radleigh wanted him, he would follow this man as a friend and companion. After a short period they also became quite good companions, although they sometimes appear to be 2 sides of the same coin. Whereas Bradleigh was always noble and kind, the goodness in Dimble's heart was sometimes hard to see properly due to his (learned) arrogance.

Not long after meeting, Dimble shared with his new friend the barest details of the events that led up to their encounter. All Dimble shared with Radleigh was that he had caused an accident with a spell, and his master had died. Realizing that he was not truly ready to discuss this, Dimble has failed to mention it again since.

His friend Radleigh had also spoken (at great length) about his Deity. Dimble worshipped Boccob (or Mystra if Boccob isn't available), but he had no major loyalty to her. So when the conversation turned to religion, Dimble did not have much to discuss, so he normally just listened.

Not long after meeting, Radleigh informed Dimble that he had important business in a town called Bywater. Dimble did not even hesitate to agree to follow Radleigh. Radleigh already knew that to get there, they'd need to take a caravan from Baldur's Gate. Upon signing up with the Caravan in Baldur's Gate, Dimble noticed a small boy get chased away. Radleigh excused himself for a short period of time and returned shortly after with the boy in tow. Dimble was proud of his friend for his actions, and slighly embarrassed that he hadn't thought of doing it himself.

During the trip, Radleigh made several attempts to introduce Dimble to the boy, but the lad seemed to want nothing to do with the diminutive gnome, and Dimble also had little outward interest towards the boy.

Are you a clear, concise writer?
Fairly concise.

Are you interested in the RimWorld fiction?
As said before it appears to be a marvelous template for many a tall tale. Should be fun getting stuck in.

Are you willing to help moderate creative rewards?
Indeed.

It would also be good if you answered:
1. What is your writing experience?
Previously writing for some blogs and uni papers. Currently proceeding with the final edit on my second book, sci fi with a league of diabolical villains that desperately need a base administrator to streamline their organization, so they kidnap an ordinary bureaucrat form the post office to fill the role. I'll attach a chapter to this comment.

2. Why do you want to help out?
Looks like a good laugh, I'd love to take a stab.

3. How much are you available to help out?
If you want something done give it to a busy person. Currently in the study break until late January. I'll be available to work on your material alongside my own during this time.

1. HONESTY MODE! I have no credentials really, only a decade of chat roleplaying and a lot of natural talent.
2. Because I love games, I love making games, and I love helping people.
3. So much it's embarrassing. 60+ hrs/week.

i would like to volunteer

1. I role play a lot online. I would think that count's seeing as you create a backstory, but other than that, i haven't done anything that wasn't required by school except a few short stories in my notebook that i have not shown anyone.

2. I would like to help out because i love this game, and I would love to help and be part of this game (even if I'm a tiny part).

3. I should be available pretty often, but i may not be available for short periods and i wont be available saturdays.

What... is your name?
Yaarrr! That'd be classified infermayshun! Says so on thar online pirate code, that it does!

What... is your Quest?
... to wreck an' pillage yer village, of course. What else did ye expect? (Ok ok, I'll stop, don't hurt me! It was just a bit of fun...yes, yes I know I'm bad at pirate-talk.)

What... is your favorite color?
Green. The exact shade of 'green' from the movie 'Big Trouble in Little China', in case you were wondering...

What... is your writing experience?
I'm a digital artist but I write occasionally...for hours without rest. (Not to mention the countless essays we all had the misfortune to endure in our respective educations. -shudder-) Art/gaming/writing are the reasons why I'm thin...I forget the most basic need to nourish myself. Bah! Food is for the weak!

Why do you want to help out? How much are you available to help out?
'Cause it's the nice thing to do. I'll be an extra hand in case you need it, several hours a week.

The heat is numbing, he notes absently; adjusting his perch on the concealed balcony. It has been many days, with many trades bearing many faces. He has studied a sea of men and women in this endless bazaar. None match the profile on the poster: many meters tall, black eyes, particular L-shaped scar across his chin, known to his thugs as 'Xenon'. Even the urchins knew little of the slave trader, only that few dare walk the streets past the setting of the second sun.
