Have you always wanted to play as Caesar, leading your colony of Apes to a better life?
Now you can!
Walking Problem is proud to present, the Planet of the Apes mod: RimWorld of the Apes!
You can play either as Apes or meet Apes factions in the game. There are 2 distinct factions of Apes, the enlightened apes who do not want war, and the rogue apes that believes that the only way to get peace to wipe out other races.
FEATURE:
– 4 different types of Apes: Chimpanzee, Bonobo, Orangutan, Gorilla
– Chimps and Bonobos are generally the mainstay of the apes, that are flexible and balanced in most ways
– Orangutans are incredibly intelligent, perhaps even more so than Humans
– Gorillas are the guardians of the apes factions, being the most resilient and most powerful among the apes
– Child and Juvenile textures included
– Apes are generally faster and stronger than humans
– Apes however cannot wear human apparels (which is what human uses to level the playing field)
– Apes can wear vanilla hats and ape's own tribal apparels (except gorillas)
– Apes likes to be naked, do not mind eating insects, sleeping on the ground, eating raw food or eating without table.
– Apes can use human weapons
– Appropriate backstories for Apes that correspond to their individual strength and weaknesses

pd:is this compatible with epoe? Or well is this compatible with which mods?
Another strike for the walking Master Problem ! :-)
But where is the EPoE patch ? :-)
Emperor help us, an army of Jokaero has invaded the Rim!!
Thanks for the mod !
This is one of those mods you look at, and think... "Good gawd, why did nobody think of this before?" :D
Great job on the new pawn art, too!
Hmm...Pretty nice! I personally can't play it until it has a Combat Extended patch, because that mod has me wrapped around it's finger. ::)

Combat Extended? Good lord..... CE is hard to patch.... (speaking from experience)
YESS I've been waiting so long for this
Any plan for adding ape-specific clothes? Specifically armors or clothes from the Tim Burton film or the 1968 film.

Hey, when you create a new race, you need to deliver the manual "How to treat/operate".pdf for the doctor too ! :-)
Shouldn't be that hard, they are basicly humans and some got tails like orassans.
i was hoping to see a18 ..... T~T

Probably not from the classics. But I will be adding some body paint and some accessories for the queen, and stuff like that. All true to the new generation of the movie.
The 4th film had been announced, so lets see what happens for that, I will add accordingly... (in 2-3 year's time? lol)

Great apes have no tails (which humans are part of)
Only monkeys have. The 2 is different. =P

B18 Update?
I just completed the update to B18 on my side. (not released yet)
Gonna do some update to the Ape traders and test the new gender body feature on the Alien Framework (it wasnt working on A17) - and I will release it. Pretty soon~
Do Apes get a mood bonus when eating Minion Meat ? ( tastes like Banana )
I cant wait to get this mod updated to B18. :P
Are you planning to add more content in the future? Like more traits, special equipment/clothes for no-nudist apes, special needs, etc.?
Thx for the mod!

definitely excited for the facepaints. Currently, there's no way to differentiate the identical apes from eachother lol. Do you think they'll be in the hair category or just equipable clothes?
Looks great.
The only thing I hold against them is that their caravan did sell their minion to me.

Face and body paints will be equipable clothes.
For the hair category, I going to do facial features, like different type of eyes, scars, moles, wrinkles, etc...

Wait, just to be sure we are talking about the same things:
I'm talking about "empty" animal pack. Traders that sell "able-to-be-used-as-pack-modded-animal" bring them when caravaning to your base but you can't buy them, without Animal Logic (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=34628.0) mod.

Is it compatible with Psychology?
I had three days old Ape Visitors, which was kind of strange
Maybe have negative buffs when killing other apes, but have a koba-ish trait that doesn't have negative affects when killing apes.
Ape not kill ape

Good lord.... making mods nowadays are so troublesome... need to make so many compatibility patches.... =="
I will look into it (in regards to EPOE)
ChJees' Androids mod has AlienRace based EPOE Patch, seems easy enough to copy.
Just to provide some quick update in case you are not in my discord or the alien framework discord to follow the latest progress on the mod.
Ver 3.0 is imminent!
It will feature a lot of new content, like more head types, more body types, more variation in the fur color, some rebalancing of weapons....
AND PREGNANCY!!!!
Yes, I have developed a Alien Race Pregnancy Framework (its complete), and this Apes mod will be the first to feature pregnancy with infant. And they can cross breed with different races (the children will be either father's race or mother's race, on a 50-50 chance).
I had kindda pushed Erdelf (developer of the Alien Framework) to do so many upgrades and changes to his framework, in order to make my vision possible. Because of the Apes mod, the alien framework now supports different body size according to their life stages (which will have to be set by the race modders) and even different face/body depending on their age. Which means, with these improvements, I just need to make the pawns mate and get pregnant as well as adding some additional hediff to make just borned pawns helpless, etc...
Anyway there is so much to say~ I am damn excited!
Currently I am on the final straight, gonna add some additional weapons to the Apes mod and I will be launching the mod!
Did you mean Alienframework 3.0 is required ?
Could you maybe add a version check that people use the wrong version ?
One small thing, could you please whitelist two collars from Thirite's simple slavery.
I've tried whitelisting them like the example given by AlienRaces, but no luck.
Your apes can be enslaved and put collar on the first time as a prisoner, but if they take the collar off, there's currently no chance they will wear the collar again. Doesn't change their status, but it does make the pawn more likely to runaway.
Thanks.
Oh man, this pregnant stuff for Allen races is exciting. I want to be able to have an entire freaking lineage of slave apes that I keep locked away deep in my dungeon. I would keep them there for feeding my vampires or for sacrifices for my cult. The younger the sacrifice should be the better, as children are more pure.
Not to sound too dark, but I've thought about modifying RimJobWorld to make it if anyone gets "used" that they have super severe penalties that last a quadrum or two, with different tiers of debuffs. But modify it so that pawns only require sex once a year, or something. But it would serve a purpose to keep somethings your pawns can "satisfy" themselves with on hand, or else they might go on a "self satisfying rampage" throughout the colony, leaving a handful of your good pawns with the "used" debuffs. Damn. It doesn't sound too bad if we can put an alien race in there instead.
I was just trying to think of ways to make the game a bit darker. And I might be a bit strange...
Also, this is absolutely not an endorsement of any of those vile actions. But I am an adult, and able to discern between reality and fantasy. I just might like to have the ability to play with a simulation like this game is, the way I want to. Plus I would bet good money that in a real life "rimworld" far off unknown planet, where there is competition for all resources just to stay alive, that lawlessness will run rampant. That's why I think the wild West sort of space Western theme goes well with it.

Done.
Although I have faint memory of enslaving Orassans back in A17, since it's humanlike and does not forbid any clothing, the message in the picture never appear. This mod specifically forbid any clothing.
On different topic, I've butchered one of the hostile ape faction raider, and no black leather. There isn't any leather of any kind, and I was looking forward to have a cool black duster. :(

I'm not sure how you gonna do that since prisoners do not mate/do lovin.
And it takes a long time to give birth (3 seasons). Not very worth it ifyou ask me.

I thought the "ver 3.0" was related to Alien framework.
But since Erdelf don't like to add version number i was confused.
With the ModCheck tool it should be possible to check if the alienframework got the right version.
But that isn't that important like mod that use/need jecstools at example.

Ver 3.0 refers to the Ape mod.
As the Ape mod is also using Alien framework, there is no reason for me to go "outside" of it.
The Alien Pregnancy Framework I created is also for the current Alien Framework version.
So no need to do mod check~ =}

– Apes are generally faster and stronger than humans

Why are you discriminating Gorillas? Winston, an evolved gorilla wearing a power armor and oversized tesla cannon would not like that.

Why not make it a late game thing, behind a research project itself.
If it's going to be a soldier race, why not making it more bad ass?
And please don't tell me it would be overpowered. This mod already removes the legendary eat without a table buff, that's already overpowered. ;D

Actually the tribal clothes for Gorilla is made, but because the alien framework cannot support do a gender check for clothes.
So until Erdelf is willing to implement that, Gorillas will be naked. (because there is 4 body types for each gender of gorillas)
But once that is done, I will interested to add more "armor" type apparels, especially for Gorillas (they will be scary)
==========
I also pondering if I should add 4 more races into this mod, they will be the Apes from the original POTA series. These apes will have "human body", instead of the "quadruple" style body - which basically makes them just "humans with ape heads" - like most alien races.
They will be the "outlander" version of the apes, and they will despise the "lower caste" Apes from the current mod.
Thinking about it.

Hooray for one more thing that will try to kill my colonists!
Just don't forget the oversized cannons. 8)

Can't help you there, it's your prerogative right as the mod creator.
But, I think many players would welcome additional leather for their hats. ;D
I think you need to place the head texture just one or two pixels down, or the body texture upward.
Here's the pic, Animal is a gorilla and Moselle is an orangutan:

Thanks, Mingji Lim. This is a great mod and it has great potentials.
Walking Problem, you can set prisoners into "comfort" mode, or any pawn to that, with RimJobWorld. That mood also adds a sex bar to a pawn's needs. So when the bar gets low enough, and they can't get any loving from a partner, they will rape any pawn/prisoner set to "comfort" mode.

I think you do not have the latest version of the Alien Framework. =P
You may want to redownload (the framework is updated all the time)

omfg....
I havent tried RimJobWorld though...
Yeah man it can get pretty dark, but it's fun that it is only a game. The thing I didn't like about it when I was looking at it, was that 100% of pawns I generated all had a bionic or hydraulic vagina, loose or tight anus, and micro penis or monster dong. Like, where's all the regular dongs and buttholes?
Also, I did not rest out in game, but I think they needed sex every few days or something. Someone else told me that the mod author toned it down, though. But that's why I want to tweak all the numbers myself. So that a pawn might die for trauma or being raped 4 times in 2 quadrums, or something. But make it so pawns only need sex maybe once or twice a year. I could insert custom traits that would make them need sex more often. I think they had a nymphomaniac trait already in the mod.
Also, I read about how someone had a nymphomaniac guest pawn come to their colony to stay, from Hospitality mod. But this nympho had an untreatable STD, like HIV or something. They went on a sex spree throughout the whole colony spreading their disease to everyone along the way.
My idea was to keep a few apes, or whatever locked away in the dungeon. So they can keep carrying on their lineage, but the older ones die off from either sacrifices for my cult, or from getting raped to death from my psychotic werewolf brawler who is volatile and chemically fascinated so he's addicted to all of my drugs. Maybe give him a "rapey" trait, so he needs sex more often. And the prisoners or apes or whoever is locked away in my dungeon will satisfy his needs, because I will have the penalty for getting raped turned way up, and I don't want that to happen to any of my good colonists.

Thats a very specific idea. LOL
So what can I do for you?

Hah, nothing I can really think of right now. I can't get back onto the PC until tomorrow, so I'm just rambling my ideas on here because I'm bored :P
Honestly though, I like your artwork a lot. I'm hoping that one day you make some more "dungeoney/medieval" kinda stuff. Think flames, thrones, robes, torches, torture, stuff like that. Of course I am not telling you what or how to make it, it is just a wish of mine. ;)

Thanks!
The problem with apparels is that I need to make 4 version of it... and I'm lazy about doing boring stuff.... LOL
But on the brightside, I'm involved with the Lord of the Ring team, my current job is to work on Orcs and Goblins. So who knows, I might actually work on some apparels or weapons.... (not sure) =P
Oh nice, I didn't even know you guys were working on it. Any info you can reveal? Could you guess a percent that you guys have completed? Or are you guys just getting started? How many people are working on it? I understand if you cannot reveal any of this :)

Huh!? What? =x
Can you rephrase... Apes are not supposed to wear anything other than the Ape's tribal wear and vanilla headwears~
in spare time ape will wear normal clothes automatically like human pawn as the outfit setting allow, but cant manually ordered to wear normal clothes.
edit: just remember i patch the body with standard humanoid type for CE compatibility
edit2: i test without CE, ape stilll wearing normal clothes

Maybe you should check if you have the latest version of the alien framework.
Really enjoying your mod and love the idea, but when i tell a chimp to wear a chimp tribalwear (the one specifically made for chimps) it says "evolved chimpanzees can't wear this".
I already tried disabling all other mods except HugsLib, Jecstools and Humanoid Alien Races, but it didn't change anything.
I'd really appreciate any help, as i don't want my apes to freeze to death just because they don't want to wear stuff made for them.

Yeah, I not sure why these issues appear when during my test it didnt.
Are you using the latest version of Alien Race Framework?
Great mod, it is possible to do a CE patch? will be very nice! thanks for your work on this!

No CE here, latest alien framework,
but it happen too hat some of the ape's wear bowler hats.
And no tribalwear for gorilla ?
Yeah, I not too sure why the apes mod seemed to be behaving differently from when I first launch it.
As I'm busy with making vehicles (like the armored caravan) for trading economy mod which you can buy and own... will take some time before i come back and take a look at it.
Basicly i like the look of some ape's with headwear, special the bowler hat, that remind me at something.

Tried this and found that they are way too strong in melee. I get that they're supposed to be but how can a gorilla have a stronger bite than a thrumbo? They can deal as much as 37 damage per bite and it's different depending on the target's bodysize/race. I took a look at the xml and found out that they have the same melee attack mechanic as a hunting predator without the stun ("surprise" attacks that deal extra damage). Maybe it has something to do with that?
Check this guy out dealing nearly half the body part's health in one instance of attack.

Someone made armor for the Apes!!!
