I thought the novel was sort of "meh" but this looks pretty rad.
It looks very predictable, full of tropes. The setup seems suspiciously like that of the terrible anime Sword Art Online. That 80's song ruined the trailer. I bet there's lots of stuff happening that makes no sense in the context of a video game (watch eXistenZ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120907/?ref_=nv_sr_1) if you don't know what I mean or if you like laughing at awful movies)
I will definitely watch this movie. It does look "rad". :-[ I can't help it.
I haven't even read the novel, and I'm not really interested in the movie either. I saw a trailer when I went to see the new Star Wars movie, it kind of made me cringe tbh.
Read the book, enjoyed it. Not my all time fave but entertaining enough. I don't really see how they can fit all the detail into the movie. An early report from a friends is that they didn't and that the movie and book vary quite a bit from each other.
