Lush Meadow 1.1
Description:Are you sick of being excited winter is over so you can let your animals graze, then looking outside at the barren wasteland that winter has left?
Look no more! No longer will the plants hide on the edge of the map. With this mod the plants will be growing ALL OVER the map!
From Nothing to meadow in just 5 days.
The above pictures were taken just 5 days apart from eachother(After killing all plants on map).
I hope you all like it, I made this mod because i was so fed up with having to grow giant fields of hay and tree farms just to support like 6 animals through the winter.
Features:Spawns vegetation all over the map, even cacti in the right biomes.
You can change the following things in the mod settings:
- Spawning plants under Roofed Areas(Default: False)
- Spawning Trees(Default: True)
- How many plants spawn at once?(Default: 1) (For users that came before mod settings, plants now spawn at 1/3rd the rate they used to)
- How mature are the plants?(Default: 5%)
Updates:
- (1.0.1)12-1-2018 - Fixed a bug where plants would spawn under roofed areas, had to change the script a bit to support the fix so please comment if there are any problems. - Also added artwork by Shotgunfrenzy
- (1.0.2)13-1-2018 - Fixed a bug where users that also have TiberiumRim had tiberium spawn all over the map with this mod.
- (1.1)14-1-2018 - Added Mod Settings(See above) and reduced the plant spawn rate to 1/3rd of the original value.

Have you tried it with Fast Spreading Grass? Any comments?

Faster Spreading Grass changes how quickly grass reproduces once its mature. It should improve long term grass growth after the grass is spawned and fully matures.
So how does your approach work ?

I patched the WildSpawner script that handles the spawning of animals, plants and caveplants. After the class spawns plants on the edge of the map. This mod makes it do that for NotEdge cells(So the rest of the map). Then it checks if a plant can grow on that cell.
Brilliant ;D

I think if I had to choose just one word that would make me think of "British", I think it would be "brilliant!"
Also, great work on the mod, going to download it and give her a shot. Thanks for all of your hard work, and I hope you keep making some more mods, excited to see what you put out next! ;)
New version available that fixes a small bug with plants spawning under roofed areas.
Maybe if i figure out modsettings i can add one to allow the spawning under roofed areas or not. I'll see.
Is that an original Picasso?

Is that an original Picasso?
I want to download it just because of the cover artwork.
But one quick question. What about performance hit?

Performance hit is negligible.

asquirrel, all I did was type this into Google, and it really was the first link to a reddit post, with these 2 links for you ;)

I tried that search ("fast spreading grass" in google) too but I'm not a big fan of "Reddit" links for my Rimworld mods. I looked in the Reddit thread and didn't find a direct link to the "fast spreading grass" mod. All I could see is that it mentions the mod. I'm also not a big fan of using Steam Workshop for my Rimworld mods. Thanks though for the Github link (which was in the Steam mod description) to the mod!
Only I can't find settings from the mod? Downloaded from google documents
Brilliant idea!
Safe to add to an active save, or do you recommend a new map?
Edit : how did I miss that sentence
This is a wonderful little mod that really helps on maps with long, bitter winters. My only complaint is that its re-seeding doesn't seem to form the "groves" we get when a map generates (tight clusters of fruit-bearing plants, like pomegranates, berries, and other mod stuff such as olive trees and persimmons)
