That planet is an oval.
Shh. You're going to hurt the planets feelings.
Maybe it's spinning very very fast? ???

Could be. I wonder if the atmosphere would stay on. I don't really know.

it's entirely possible... but only if it's not being judged... it doesnt perform well under pressure...

How poetic considering it was born under immense pressure and pressures us unreasonably every day.
Erm, I don't want my first post to be the height of pedantry but oval planets are entirely possible. One of our own solar system outliers is a very odd shape. Strangely I've never met anyone who is actually aware of this. So here you go, ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haumea_(dwarf_planet)
Hello btw, really looking forward to Rimworld blossoming into the beautiful game it's surely going to be.
I'm fairly certain that once you get into Mars-mass rocky planets and above, they're going to be very close to spherical since they're too massive and the material they're made out of is too dense. Saturn and Haumea can bulge out as oblate spheroids because of low density in the former and low mass in the latter.
Wallpaper turns into a planetary debate. I CAN just fix it ya know.
What's done is done.
You'll be forever known as "He who makes oval planets".
Kids might even throw (oval ?) rocks at you on the streets...
LOL Great thread this. :D

in all reality you can'tfix this. Once it is on the web it stays on there.
You will always be known as
oval Cowan from now on.
I am using it as a background on my testing machine though (-;

Technically, the Earth is not round either. Do I really need to talk about fat privileges?
I thought planets were square shaped, and kind of flat. Not round or oval as you people seems to think. Preposterous!
