I have updated the Storyteller to 1.1, to reduce the frequency of caravans after people told me that it is lagging their game with too many traders.....

I personally had 2 playthru with the mod... like in a single day.
The first playthru last only 6 in-game days before everyone died.... the 2nd playthru in a desert lasted almost 10....
This storyteller basically made rimworld "casual" - it speeds up the game so much... its hard to survive since things keep happening~ LOL
Oh man I just tested it and these are my thoughts:
The game was more "livelly". first day I already got a call about someone being chased by a faction, ok. a tad later, a caravan come (walkeblem)
by the night, I got a raid. they were raped by the caravan tanks. a hour later another caravan come (polarisblock)
and the next day everything went downhill... a orassan caravan visited me and it seems walkeblem got a grudge with them, hell broke loose on my colony, friendly fire cause all 3 caravans fight each other, killing my colonists and my animals. and yeah, it happened in 2 days lol
going to try the update, but I already love it, really (at least I wont have to wait for a whole quadrum for a caravan arrive). also, do you increase the number of animals?

I didnt increase the animals, but the frequency of migrations and animal passing by are a lot higher. So Thrumbos are kindda more common.
The 1.1 update basically reduce the trade caravan to probably around 1-2 a day (max). Because a lot of people are telling me their game is lagging from too many caravans~

I managed to play for a year and here is my thoughts:
The beggining is BRUTAL! really. I got a lot of raids, some happens when I just killed my last raider. In my third play I lost because I run out of ammo and I still havent researched machining... anyways...
Sometimes fun things happens, like a meteorite falls on some unfortunate raider or a mob of deep ones (around 40) run in the middle of a walkblem caravan. it feels like playing with randy random on alpha 6 lol.
But what a really want to talk about is your magic! I play with hardcore pack and performance issues is a common issue, now I'm using your 1.1 version and it feels like I'm playing with no mod at all!!! man, I don't know what you did but I loved It, really! (Still thinking if I should thank you for your hardwork or burn you for witchcraft)

Thanks for the compliment, its your kind of "love" that I get from players which makes me able to continue to do the mods~ =D
But I dun think I really did anything to "reduce" the lag though.... Its weird, if you can last 1 year, the amount of accumulated incidents could possibly be 10 years on any other storytellers... LOL~ So I not sure how is it not lagging.
I'm still amazed someone able to last 1 year on this storyteller.... shit happens so quickly, my colony dun even have time to recuperate before the next crazy shit happen... LMAO (just the way I would "screw things up hilariously" if I am actually dictating a game, like a DM in D&D)

I think I might know why... because the game do not need to store so much information for the year ahead because incidents kept triggering; reducing the amount of "information" being calculated and stored LIVE. (my guess)

The only thing I do is clean the world pawn with runtime. it can easily get over 100 dead pawns in a month. after this the game speed up a lot!
Man, once I manage to build my walls everything starts going easier, specially those annoing insects from your other mod (forgot the name now). the tough part is trying to keep the good mental health of my pawns. in a year and a half I got swarmed by deep ones and starchilds. while they are weak, they give a -40 (each) and it seems your storyteller really loves the cthulhu monsters lol.
Gotta say good job much more challenge I got the difficulty on Intense and even with the strength in skills in my pawns things happen to fuck s**t up thanks bro.

The bugs mod is call Starship Troopers Arachnids. If you are 1.5 years in... shit are going to get serious from the mod... Good luck
(try the hardcore add on for the arachnids mod if you think life is boring)

Ok, after 2 years and almos a half, my colony was destroyed.
And the fun part is, my allies destroyed me lol.
I had a huge wave of ghost armada (I think its a mod faction from polarisblock) and man, they can hurt with those ice attacks! but once their melee unit passed my eletric fence, my allies from walkblem started firing their cannons, exploded my Flak artillery and everybody dies. It happened so fast...
Really man, your storyteller is awsome and I'm starting a new colony later. I'm thinking about a better trade eficiency (like put those traders VERY FAR AWAY from my killzone)
Also, by the beggining of the second year, all traders (specially from walkblem) appeared with tons os animals and mercenaries (and tons of tanks), causing a bit of slowdown. nothing gamebreaking but just to point it out. I think most ppl wont play that far
