Title: Can you train skills with no interest (0 flame)?
Post by: Thangunis on March 19, 2018, 09:29:22 AM
I have a colonist that I need to train from crafting 2 to 3 to make medicine. She is crafting for me at the moment and the character sheet tells me: Level 2 7800/3000XP. Why is the skill not rising to level 3? Can't she get any better because she has no interest (0 flame)?

Everyone can gain skill.
Without passion (flame's) it is just slower.
Until a skill reach level 10, no skill degeneration happen. But since you just want skill 3 it shouldn't matter.
Happy slap (or use a mashine pistol) your prisoner and let them patch from that pawn without medcin.

Not all crafting jobs give crafting skill. This includes stonecutting and making smokeleaf joints, among others.

What does the game tell me with the experience of a skill? Because it tells me 7800/3000 XP ???

Are you positive it doesn't say 780 / 3000 and not 7800 / 3000 ?

Otherwise I would hazard a guess that a mod is messing with leveling and messing something up.

Would there be an easy way to find out which mod?

Can you list the mods you have on that specific save? That would help a lot

If you got hugslib installed, just use the green "share logs" button, the link include the modlist.

Looks like Mad Skills is the only one that affects skills directly in there. Try disabling it if it's safe. (Back up your save too) Then check.
