Welcome to the Lord of the Rings expansion pack for RimWorld, the Lord of the Rims.

Mission Statement
This is a series of themed mods inspired by J.R.R. Tolkein's The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Silmarillion books as well as Peter Jackson's films. We aim to expand the RimWorld experience by adding the races of Middle Earth, armor, weapons, shields, wizards, magic, quests, and the various creatures and encounters one would expect to come across in Middle Earth. The original focus will be on the Third Age. This mod exists as a collaboration project between some of the best modders in RimWorld. Anyone can contribute!

Thank you very much Jecrell!

I have a suggestion too; The Third Age adds iron, but steel still spawns in my maps, wouldn't be better to remove steel too? Because now you have two resources with almost identical stats.

Also I have occasional problems with those ithildin wall lights; sometimes when I place them, my pawns completely deconstruct the wall in order to place that light there. Lastly it happened with hobbit earthen hill walls.

Amazing mod.

Combined with "A Rimworld of Magic" and "Call of Cthulu" (until we get orcs and trolls) makes a different kind of play!

Same here.
It is defintiv a problem with Lord of the Ring Third age mod.
With just the Lord of the Ring's races, it still works.
But once the Third age got added, the transport pod is "empty".

Really hope this continues development, so far the most enjoyable storymod. Any idea when the orcs/goblins will be out? So far battling against star trek races!

On Github they are even at 1.0
But i think they create some error's on startup, because currently i just use Dwarfs,Elf,Hobbits.

So since the mod removes the Comms Console is there any way to contact factions?

Also for some reason I did not have a single trader the last 10 hours but that also might just be Randy doing Random things. Only visitors coming no traders.

Did you watch the movies ?
How did the hero's contact other factions ? They visit them.

Is it possible to have beardless dwarven women? Or even just a beard option that is no beard? I'm not sure what I'd have to do to mod the mod myself, but for the sake of being able to tell one dwarf from the other, I would really appreciate this.

It's strange starting as the dwarves and only being able to build/craft elven and hobbit stuff. Those mods really need research as well.

Not only researches.
How could a elf sleep on a hobbit/dwarfen bed ?
The comfort of all bed's should be lowered, and when the right race sleep at the bed, they geting a comfort/mood bonus.
Same for weapons, Dwarfen should have difficult to use elf bow based on their short arms.
Elf's should have difficult to use dwarfen weapons because of their lower strenght.

Yes! It took me two real time days to realize that one of the dwarf in my colony is a female. I've been hunting for one for the past I dunno how many days! Old Magni Bronzebeard was so lonely.

I curse those who created this mod, if all of them are cursed, hahaha is a joke. I really love the team that is behind this mod, I can not believe that something like this can be incorporated into Rimworld. I am using the version that allows you to have the technology. Although it is a bit uneven to see the fight between the Jedi and Sith with their lightsabers and laser guns and the poor Elves, dwarves and hobbits with their swords and bows. I really want to thank you for creating this mod.And I look forward to the updates that come out. Although to be honest, I'm a rookie in the game.Greetings from Uruguay.
PS: I get some errors in the game about their mod, but I do not know how to show them the error text. I tried to find some way to fix the error without having to bother those who created the mod. My version of the game is 1.0.2096

There is a Warhammer 40K mods on steam workshop with space orc. I know it's not the same thing as LotR ones but it's at least something.

Question: I started a game and having fairly funs with ELFs and dwarfs mod. My question is: Is it possible to start as a dwarfs but remove all dwarf factions from game and dwarf characters generation, so only my settlement has dwarfs and dwarfs are born for only my settlers.

Some mod like faction control should do the job.
But it still can happen that some dwarf's can appear as part of other factions which arn't fixed to one race.

I know this is ancient, but just in case others are still on 1.0 (like me) and wondering why drop-pod-based transportation always fails: If you have a look in the source, Jecrell so kindly shipped with the mod, you will see that in "RemoveModernStuffHarmony.cs" pawns in transport pods are filtered/removed by the mod. And without any pawn in the pod, it's lost.
You can remove (comment them out) the code blocks 21-22 and 138-152, and recompile the project. Then everything works just fine.

(And now I can return to building my Warpgates, yes-yes.)
