Title: [Request] Hauling robotics
Post by: Flebe on June 20, 2014, 07:36:04 AM
Hay guys :)
I've been using the mod suggestion page a lot but still.
I was wondering,It may have already been done if so I'm sorry I've looked back and couldn't find anything on it, but a mod that adds robots that can only haul items.
I was thinking maybe they should also be in different tiers of skills so for example the first could be a small clunky robot that can haul say 50 items at a time and be repetitively slow but will get the job done. Then after researching something like 'Advanced Mechanical systems' the robot may move faster and carry more. Then after that 'Advanced Alloy integration' allowing the Robot to carry maybe 2 full stacks at a time and travel at a slower speed and maybe the alternative being carry only one but be faster. Finally maybe a tech 'Advanced drone and AI' that could allow a hovering robot that could only pick up half stacks but however if out side can travel over walls, as long as they are not covered by a thick roof.
I think this could add a lot to the game and improve it by a bit as have you ever got sick and tired of waiting hours for your colonists to just pick up the hundreds of guns in front of your base? I have. So this could really help. Maybe they would have to charge every now and again but then maybe the more advanced ones could even have battery upgrades and wireless charging, Eg. operate with in the area of a 'Power Tower' if you will.
Any way if you could be bothered to read this thanks :) I don't know how possible this all is but I think it would be great.
