i was just browsing, when i thought of a new way to pick colonists.... since the game is about people who survive a crash; why not make it a bit more fun to choose? by this i mean make a short crash scene (where the people move to the three pods left) and you choose who it is! this would give players a way to see what the people look like before hand (since that is not available at the moment) and ad a bit more "in-depth" feeling to the game... just thinking; tell me what you think
that is a bit strange and it would be so nice if you could give us more details about your idea. but a bit of gameplay before crash would be good.
I agree, more details! Would there be a crowd of people in the escape pod room and you would have to quickly select three colonists to get to the pods?(if time ran out random guys would be selected) or would you have all the time you need?
Someone did this, and I've spent the past hour scouring youtube for it. They made a clever little scenario mod out of map editing and trickery in XML only where almost exactly this happened. It was like a little cut scene at the beginning of the game. However for the life of me I cannot find it, so if someone does or remembers it, post it here :D
I think it was alpha 2, but it may have been alpha 1.

I think I know the one you are on about. A spaceship built in a mountain, with areas set to explode, and the three colonists make their way out whilst it is exploding.

That sounds about right, though I'm not sure I remember it being set in a mountain... It's been a long time though, so it might have been XD Can you post the link? I still can't find the blighter.
